Don’t you trust the Circle of Trust?

Thanks for your message of support. I have lived here for nearly 45 years and have seen many changes in that time. I had a couple of spells as President of our local Chamber of Commerce and it was a constant theme of local independents being driven out of business by the larger enterprises. Supermarkets are not content with 95% of the business, they want it all.

I much prefer watching us now and I feel that we are creating more goal scoring chances but defensively we are wide open. The way that Tonali just sprinted right through our team on Saturday was pitiful. Did not playing with a standard back four have anything to do with it?
-
Promotion next season or not I would much rather watch a more aggressive front foot style than tactical walking football. That’s academic really since we are unlikely to renew our season tickets. We will probably just get memberships and cherry pick our attendances.

You’re apathetic you are. And you don’t even care about it.

When you consider that I live in Chandlers Ford which is effectively a suburb of Southampton we have a very poor selection of local shops. My 18 year old granddaughter has now been diagnosed as anorexic. She doesn’t eat properly and it all started a few years ago when she had a serious abdominal condition that required emergency surgery. She has never properly recovered from that but now that her condition has been elevated we are now seeing better support.

Someone once told me that a surgeon will cut you open and a doctor will fill you full of pills. It’s what they know and do.

You have a local baker? Wow! I dream of real crusty bread.
-
Both could be possible. A lab leak that spread to a local market perhaps? I don’t believe in coincidences. An outbreak of a new type of disease in an area close to a laboratory specialising in obscure viruses?

He’s still learning about his players although why Smallbone got more than a few minutes at the end of a game baffles me. We are nowhere near having a settled team. They all play like they’re strangers.

Being consecutive is not really relevant. It’s the goal number that matters.

Closing the schools during Covid lockdown didn’t help their social development either.

What makes you think they’re English?
-
Look at it again. This time not as a Newcastle fan but as a neutral. Like me.

I’m an ex-referee. I don’t over think anything. In your last sentence here you say “not all of them end with a mistimed tackle” which means that you accept that at least some of them do. So I repeat, is being pulled down by your own shirt an offence, and if not, why not?
-
His shirt was being pulled as he tried to make the tackle. That’s why it was mistimed. Or do you think that shirt pulling is not a foul in itself?
-
Aribo being dragged down by the pull on his shirt?
-
I call it shirking from home.

Photographers go looking for angles such as this.

What’s the betting on when we are going to be officially relegated?
-
It does happen but not very often. It takes balls and an experienced referee. A junior or fresh one will feel under pressure to make the decision that VAR have recommended. And replays should never be shown in slow motion in my view. It distorts reality. There is also the psychological aspect that the more times you see an event the more you will convince yourself that an action must have been deliberate.
-
Bednarek was a cause of many of those goals.
-
I assume that you’ve never refereed a game yourself? Nor ever been involved in TV signal processing?t the resolution of a TV picture is several orders worse than a human eye, and a referee has two of them and sees everything in 3 dimensions. The projection of the field of play onto a flat screen is not exact and depends on the type of lens used together with other factors. Those straight lines that you see on the TV are not straight projections from what is on the pitch. The only thing that is completely skewed here is the illusion that TV gives you. It may seem bizarre to you if you don’t understand any of these factors.
