  1. I’m sure there’s a player in there somewhere. Maybe two.
  2. That’s the spirit!
  3. I wasn’t trying to make a point. It was a genuine question.
  4. Are these ‘appearances’ full games?
  5. I tend to agree but my concern is that what they call ‘investment’ is actually going to be more subsidies. In my world investment should lead to returns somewhere down the line. Infrastructure is what we are badly lacking.
  6. Yes, it was a very trying time all round.
  7. Sharing
  8. Very wise 😉 I noticed on MOTD that Adam Armstrong used “offside goal” in his post match interview. Who’s going to have a word with him?
  9. Yes, the game is about fine moments. The important thing is to load the dice and maximise your chances of scoring whilst minimising your chances of conceding. Things like not packing your goal area at corners and marking the edge of your box for example.
  10. It was nowhere near the bar, and you know full well that it wasn’t. You can’t wriggle out of this one 😊
  11. I thought it was too high up the pitch for that. There was plenty of cover.
  12. That’s football in a nutshell.
  13. That Tarkowski tackle was as red as they get.
  14. It should have been a red card for Young. The ball is classed as a weapon.
  15. No appeal for yellow cards.
  16. No, that’s not the way it works. You can’t cherry pick your moments in a game. Martin is responsible for the way we defend (?) corners and he got that spectacularly wrong in both games. I wasn’t smashed under the bar, as you put it. It was driven down at the foot of the post.
  17. All four of Dibling’s are for shirt tugging. He needs to be more disciplined and disciplined more.
  18. But giving the ball away is a direct consequence of trying to keep the ball by passing it around. Doing that at the back also means that when we do lose possession we are in a poor defensive configuration. By all means pass the ball around (quickly and snappily) when we are further up the pitch but doing it at the back is like dangling a piece of meat over the jaws of an alligator. Sooner or later it will bite your arm off.
  19. Watching MOTD I noticed the run by Archer that drew away two Everton defenders and created the space for AA to exploit. One of the two defenders was Mykolenko who blocked Pickford’s view. It was the speed of our attack that broke up Everton’s defensive shape.
  20. What’s wrong with you lot tonight? Too much celebratory jungle juice? I used the term ‘offside goal’ in the context of what could have happened in the last few minutes. Yet you and others can only concentrate on the word ‘offside’. Surely everybody knows what an offside goal is? Surely? *pedant alert* It’s not actually possible to be a mile offside. 😎 Lighten up. We won FFS.
  21. #deluded (not you, Martin)
  22. You sure? People still argue over Bobby Stokes. But that wasn’t my point, was it? There was enough time for them to have scored a goal. Yes or no?
  23. Some very loose passes today. I stopped counting at ten. And why oh why does he insist on repeatedly turning back inside and passing the ball towards our penalty spot? We all know he’s going to do that and so do the opposition. They use it as a signal to bundle forward.
