What worked (just) last season is not necessarily going to work again. The best that we could hope for would be playoffs and that is not a serious plan. There were spells where we struggled and even the all-hallowed unbeaten run didn’t yield all that many points. As the old warning goes, ‘Past performance is no guarantee of future performance’

We need to end this season with some amount of hope and positivity otherwise next season we shall hit the ground crawling.

You can be unlucky in one game, maybe two, but we have had enough of the season to know that this style of playing is not going to work in this division.

The problem is that it doesn’t suck the life out of the opposition.

“Attack like mad” is all I ask for.

It’s a sad day when we start blaming the refereeing for all our problems. And those two fouls had no bearing on Wolves’ second goal. For both their goals a player was allowed to run right through our half of the pitch without being challenged.

By the way, where is Branfoot these days?

I don’t expect results to improve immediately but I want to get rid of this bore fest that we have to sit through every fortnight. This way of playing was never going to work at this level and we all knew it. With the best players in the world it would still be boring.

All that tells me is that results don’t matter.

I think they must spend all day staring at themselves on their phone cameras. Wide angle lenses will cause that sort of distortion.

Definitely 1950’s when I was living in Dovercourt, Essex. It was the setting for “Hi De Hi”. We didn’t think of it as behind the times but at around 11 years old and not knowing any better we had to make our own entertainment..
