  1. Yes, that was sold out ages ago when we were desperate for the money, extras for England appearances, all that stuff.
  2. My hamster died of an accident... ... he fell asleep at the wheel.
  3. Thanks, but too small for me on my iPhone. A few nips might have improved it though.
  4. What's wrong with that?
  5. Sort of proves the point, really.
  6. And the defence?
  7. Maybe a record for our club but par for the course in the Premier League.
  8. They've just lost 1-0 away. Change the manager and the whole team!
  9. Seems to be asleep at today's game.
  10. When I was in Southampton heart unit last year there was a doctor from Cunard working in admissions in order to get experience. They told me that after every cruise there is a batch of new patients brought in from the docks. Nice man, great broadcaster, he will be missed.
  11. Isn't 10 games the usually accepted figure at which you take stock of the situation?
  12. This reckons about £85k: http://www.trophy4toon.co.uk/index.php/premier-league-referees/ And this £70k average: http://www.tsmplug.com/football/average-salary-premier-league-referees/ There's a section at the bottom here about last season and refereeing: http://review.premierleague.com/pdfs/season-review-2012-13-chapter-02.pdf They can have other jobs of course, if they can find the time.
  13. I think it's a lot more than that. In my day (over 10 years ago) I think it was £75,000. For that the FA gets first call on their services. All expenses are extra. If the match is more than 150 miles (?) from their home by have to stay in a hotel overnight. They do not drive to the stadium in their own vehicles. The FA hires a room at a local hotel for all the officials with flip chart etc and they are driven in one vehicle to the ground. This is how it was then, things must have changed.
  14. I'll wager that he knows better than anybody on here.
  15. We've lost an away game 1-0. Do we change the manager every time that happens?
  16. We can't blame the ref every week, can we?
  17. Those who are married know what sex with a robot is like.
  18. There's no mystery here. The basic facts are that he was driving way too fast in a 50kph limit and that she was not wearing her seat belt. Anyway, why wasn't she at home with her kids?
  19. We once had a roast beef dinner but the gravy had been made with instant coffee granules. Not nice.
  20. I was involved with EBC at the time, although not on this project, but I took an interest in it. I think the car park started off at 6000 places and was then reduced to 3000, but my memory is not what it was. The present car traffic is dissipated over a large area which must be better than concentrating it all on a motorway junction. Can you imagine the queues on the motorway to get into the car park? There was a lot of opposition locally, filling up the strategic gap was a big concern, and Lowe was very keen on more than just a stadium. The Pirelli site in Eastleigh became available to the club, if they wanted it. But that was then and this is now. A large-scale redevelopment of the entire Itchen waterfront would be wonderful for the city.
  21. Yes, just do what IKEA do and validate your parking ticket for you, or give you a ticket to let you out. 15 minutes is a nonsense.
  22. Studies showed that it would take over one and a half hours to clear the (modest) car park.
  23. The big question is... ...what was the third leg made of?
