I was referring to the press coverage and rumours on the various message boards, not the thread. Haven't any reason not to believe what you say but can't be arsed to substantiate it myself.

Yes but he's another who has just returned from a long injury. Of all the leading contenders Ledley King's probably played the most games this season and everyone knows him as a walking sick-note.
-
Of course this could just all be rumour-mongering or bullsh!t. Or if there is truth in the reports, it may not be for footballing reasons, there could be fundamental differences of opinions on how to take the club forward (sporting director etc.).

They wouldn't go to the trouble in persuading him to come out of retirement, if they weren't planning to take him.

Can't believe Heskey won't go. Not saying he should necessarily but he's been pretty much ever present for Capello since he took over, so I can't see him being ditched now.

Final day of the Prem - Chelsea Champions
krissyboy31 replied to SuperMikey's topic in General Sports
I think its very unfair that the Skates have to play a team such as Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Should be allowed to play Cardiff again, to give them a chance. -
A nice leaving present from the PL, courtesy of Everton FC, even though it was a late delivery!!

Great fightback only to lose it on a last minute drop goal!

Not really. We were chasing the likes of Colchester and MK Dons in the play-off positions and managed to reel them in and overtake them. We just had too many teams between us and the top 6 and 3 of those teams ended up with the chance of automatic promotion on the final day. Back in February I thought we would finish with 74 points and that would be only good enough for 7th or 8th place. That view was shouted down because 74 was deemed to be enough to make the play-offs. We ended up one point short of that but still 7 points short of 6th. Most seasons we would have qualified.

But that's more to do with the unbelievable runs that the likes of Millwall, Swindon and Huddersfield went on than a failure on our behalf.
-
Would have thought that would account for the votes for possible change of manager if certain alternatives became available but not the 'definites!'
-
The SSN report is that he has agreed to sign for us! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_6141895,00.html

Watch out for Crusaders new scrum-half Jarrod Sammut. Was different class at Murrayfield and he only arrived in the country last Thursday.
-
I think he's on a short term contract with them which expires at the end of the season (I.e 31st May).

Halifax - Batley postponed. Possible ineligible player fielded by Halifax v Swinton. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12196_6143208,00.html

Don't know what game you were watching, Lallana ran the game!
-
Yeh, I heard that but discounted it as BS because Markus wouldn't want to slum it!
-
It was because he was desperate to get to 20 goals for the season. He wanted to take the penalty but when Lambert insisted, he probably thought his chance had gone.

Saints v Southend,1st half & halt time chat..
krissyboy31 replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
In the absence of a post match thread and all the chat seeming to be about why the programmes were withdrawn, why Markus possibly wasn't at the game, whether Pardew's future is being discussed on Wednesday and whether or not we are signing Calderon. Going back to the match. Most of it was pretty average and a lot of what we tried to do, for one reason or another, didn't come off. Thought Connolly looked particularly rusty! A special mention though for Adam Lallana who was head and shoulders the best player on the park and thoroughly deserved his 20th goal of the season. -
Pretty unprofessional of Poyet to come out and mention Saints by name in that article IMO. I know he is probably upset that Calderon has rejected their terms but he should have said that, and that Calderon want to listen to other "offers" and left it at that!
