Not sure about that. He says we need to stop moaning and finding excuses when things aren't going right, but that's exactly what he himself has been doing all season so far. He needs to look in the mirror before having a pop at the players.

Ok so we've missed a ridiculous amount of chances so far, and nobody is disputing that. But these are the players we've got and are largely stuck with untill the end of the season, barring an unusually busy January window. So when your strikers aren't doing the business, you need to make sure that your defensive unit is. Puel knew this in 16/17 - he recognised that our attacking options weren't great so he made us a much more solid defensive unit. And OK, the football may not have been entertaining, but he had a CB pairing of Stephens and Yoshida for the second half of that season, and managed to make us compact and hard to beat, against PL teams. Can we say the same about Still? Absolutely not. We're not scoring enough, granted. But the system we're employing is leaving us wide open and leaking goals against very poor teams. And when we are inevitably chasing a game because it's gone wrong, our substitutions are making us even worse. That is 100% on the manager. So of the options available to us right now, replacing Still with a competent manager who knows how to coach a defence and set up a team properly is the only truly feasible one to improve results, because we can't just sack the strikers and replace them.

Aside from 30-40 min dominant spells against Swansea and Bristol City, we absolutely have. I watched Stockport beat Port Vale last night to go top of L1. Their overall performance (in a 343 formation) was a whole different level above anything we have dished up so far this season.
-
Worth also pointing out here that he's got them top of the league playing with 3 CBs, so Rasmus would love that.

While I'm loth to defend SR too much, given the absolute catastrofuck they have presided over, some credit does have to be given for what they did achieve with their outgoings this summer. But despite what deals they did manage to do, we are unfortunately still left with plenty of bad apples because a) we simply had too may to begin with, and b) we can't just give them away or cancel their contracts if we can't find a buyer willing to get close enough to our valuation.
-
And not only that, when you watch Stockport you can see that he has coached a very effective way of defending against them as well.
-
So far tonight they are everything we are not. Well organised, confident, moving the ball forward quickly, and not sitting back to protect their lead. The way things are going, we could well swap places with them in the summer.

Watching Port Vale v Stockport. I love Vale's sponsorless retro home kit. Stockport just gone 2-0 up. Didn't panic when they took the lead and looking ruthless and good value for topping the table (assuming they hold on to this).
-
For anyone who wants to see what Challinor is all about, Port Vale v Stockport is on right now.
-
Welington got a red card so will be suspended, and Charles pulled his hamstring and will be out for a while. So Manning and Downes are the best available options for those positions next week.
-
Heard nothing but good things about Challinor from my Nephew. But he's onto a good thing at Stockport and they are flying in L1 - will go top if they beat Port Vale tomorrow night. I very much doubt he would want to throw that away to take the poisoned chalice of the Saints job.

Not all of us did.

No they weren't. This is a total myth. Our best run of form under Ralph came long after Rohl had left.
-
They were both ill. Still hoped at least one of them would be well enough to play, so they both travelled and other potential replacements like Aribo and Matsuki stayed home. Then it became apparent that neither of them could play, but it was too late to bring those others up from Southampton. So we had to get Bragg taxied up to Blackburn because the U21s were already halfway up the country in Leicester. Quite breathtaking ineptitude that you wouldn't expect even from a non-league team.
-
Only that's not even remotely true is it. Rohl left in August 2019. Our best run of form under Ralph came after that.
-
Yeah, only that's not actually what my post said is it. Maybe read it again. As to what it would hopefully achieve? For starters just send a message to SR that we're not going to be mugged off anymore and continue to pay for their pitiful 'product'.
-
I'm absolutely speechless at this. It's the kind of ineptitude you would expect from a Sunday league team - turning up to a game just hoping that their star player isn't too hungover from the night before and then having to get one of the guys' sons who's just come as a spectator to play in his place when he doesn't show up. That alone should be a sackable offence at this level.

To borrow a phrase from another forum member: that's a fucking noddy, son-in-law attitude. How about we do something about it before we get to the kind of state that Wednesday or Coventry have found themselves in? SR may have actually put money into the club, but if it's invested as badly as it has been then it's no different from having an owner who wants to bleed the club dry. They've had an easy ride so far, but they need to be held to account for their utterly appalling stewardship of OUR club. As long as these fucking muppets are in charge, we will continue to be an absolute laughing stock. If you're happy to sit on your hands and let them continue to grossly mismanage the club then that's your prerogative. But don't tell other fans how they should or shouldn't deal with what has become an unacceptable situation.

Didn't Still say he wanted to move back to the UK because of his partner's ill health? Maybe his plan was to take the job and then deliberately fuck it up as much as possible so he could get a massive payoff and then spend his free time with her. It's the only explanation I can think of for those utterly horrific subs today. It's like he wants to be sacked.

Why are some of our fans clapping FFS!

Let's just look at those 4 wins in more detail... Everton 1-0. Got lucky that VAR ruled out a late equaliser. Ipswich 2-1. A lucky rebound fell to Onuachu for a late winner after we hadn't played well. Wrexham 2-1. Needed an injury time goal from a defender to beat a very poor newly promoted team at home. Sheff Utd 2-1. Again got very lucky with a disallowed late equaliser after we desperately hung on after taking the lead. We haven't beaten anyone comfortably since WBA in the playoffs nearly 18 months ago. The club is completely rotten to the very core. Sport Republic need to fuck off, and keep fucking off until they can't fuck off anymore.
-
Lost the plot. No way he turns this round. Seems a good bloke, but woefully out of his depth here. The game management today has been spectacularly inept.
-
Oh deary fucking dear. Bye Will.
-
We're going to lose this now, guaranteed.
