  1. What the fuck has Moss seen on the replay to change his mind? It was a blatant foul and a penalty. He's just succumbed to the City players' whingeing. Absolutely pathetic, spineless prick.
  2. Are you fucking joking me!?
  3. With Stu and Theo still unavailable, it's the perfect excuse to try it. Some people reckon we shouldn't because he's a full back not a winger, but he has played in more attacking roles before with Chelsea and England, and I seem to remember another young Saints full back who successfully converted to an attacking player - he didn't do too badly for himself did he!
  4. Just FYI everyone - this weekend is students moving in weekend, so if anybody is thinking of trying to get into Manchester by car I would strongly advise against it.
  5. Yep, mine too. Leaving it a bit late to send them out, but the delay could have been at the SHU end.
  6. Still not got mine yet.
  7. The new Culture Secretary: https://www.newstatesman.com/culture/2014/04/begorrah-nadine-dorries-four-streets-bad-novel-riddled-shamrockese
  8. Ladies and gentlemen, our new Foreign Secretary 😥
  9. Exactly. I'm usually the first in line to criticise Boris' government, but you can't blame them for not knowing 6 months ago how long the immunity from the vaccine would last. If the choice ahead of us is booster jabs or more lockdowns, I can't see how anybody would willingly choose the latter. It's an absolute no-brainer.
  10. There's still a large area fenced off there so I guess they've never been able to repair it properly. I've been to the gym this evening and it seems a lot of people are using that car park for the football (Utd played Preston at the Lane tonight) since they don't have entry and exit barriers anymore. It's the Nuffield Health gym on Napier street... https://maps.app.goo.gl/qPfrYYvg38eoR7E16 Would be handy for you @bangkoksaint if you're coming in from A625 - much easier to get out again afterwards.
  11. @bangkoksaint Lots of unrestricted on-street parking in the residential area shown in red here: Gets pretty busy so the later you arrive the further away you'll have to park.
  12. Have they got Dave Merrington writing their Saints content now then?
  13. Manc Airport has a tram link direct to the city centre and, I think, to the stadium. Easy to get to off the M56 if you're coming up from Brum, but will probably be costly.
  14. Don't agree with this at all. Long is a player with incredibly limited technical ability but decent enough pace in a straight line to cause defenders problems with his direct running at them. Redmond is clearly talented, but even when he does decide to run at players he's not all that quick. It's just the fact that he dithers so much and always, without fail, wastes good attacking opportunities by delaying too long before choosing the wrong option anyway. He's infuriating, because we know he can do it. When he set up Moi's goal against Newcastle, he showed what he can do by going past a defender and putting in a decent cross. If Redmond had the same eagerness to drive forward at defenders that Long has (or used to have), we'd have a proper player on our hands, and he probably would have been poached by one of the bigger clubs by now.
  15. To get people to take notice enough that they want to discuss it on an internet forum I guess
  16. I'd say the two things are almost mutually exclusive. To be anti-vax is to be a science-denier, while the entire climate protest movement is centred around acknowledging the science behind it.
  17. I don't understand why MOTD didn't show the Redmond 'chance' from our breakaway after WH came close from a corner. They just cut it and showed a replay of that, ignoring the fact we came close to scoring immediately after. Very strange.
  18. Just incredible. So happy for her. What a humble and likeable person as well as talented. Just imagine the support she will have at Wimbledon next year. Shoe-in for SPOTY I reckon.
  19. Been out today so just watched the highlights. Hard to get any impression of the overall performance from that, but Broja looks very confident for such a young lad. Gonna be hard to leave him on the bench if he keeps putting in displays like that. Couple of decent saves from Macca. I know he's everyone's favourite scapegoat but he's actually looked OK so far this season, as he did in the first half of last season. Redmond gets put clean through and STILL waits for 4 defenders to get back before shooting, then chooses the wrong option when the ball came back to him. Such an infuriating player. A clean sheet. A point against a team that has seemingly beaten us with ease in every match in recent years. 3 points better off than from the corresponding fixtures last season. Definite reasons to be positive.
  20. Given the post on the "Cars that have aged badly" thread that Dr Who resurrected recently, if he wants to be taken seriously as a classic car collector then he needs to get himself a Mk2 Fiesta. Then I would have even more respect for him 😉
  21. Oh yeah, the first film massively raised the bar for visuals against which all other sci-fi films were then judged. But the CGI in the sequels was overdone and looked very silly at times (like when Neo fought off a few dozen Agent Smiths all at once), and I thought they were very poor overall. This new one certainly looks good on the eye, but yeah I'm not expecting a great plot. From what it shows in the trailer, Neo seems to have been re-inserted into the matrix and had his memory wiped, so he has to go through the whole process of discovering he is The One again. Just seems like lazy writing IMO.
  22. Meh. Can't say I'm too enthused about this. Looks like they've just taken the Disney approach to Star Wars and re-hashed the original film with the same cast for a new generation.
  23. I guess because with Theo unavailable as well it gives Ralph the chance (that he probably won't take, but still) to play Tino and KWP together on the right. Any scenario where Long doesn't get on the pitch is positive though.
  24. Yeah that was surprising. With Philips on a yellow, he should have been hooked and replaced with someone who could put in the tackles needed in the later stages to stop Poland from building any momentum. Poor decision-making from GS.
