It's almost as if he doesn't have the slightest clue what he's on about.

"DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH SHEEPLE!" - the true rallying cry of the conspiracy theorist. You are accusing multiple people here of being suckers who only believe what they read/see in the MSM, but I'm not seeing any evidence of that. Most people nowadays are savvy enough to take it with a pinch of salt. I have no doubt that all media outlets have their own biases, and what I find most telling is not what they do tell you, but what they don't tell you. Regarding Icke - he's spouted off about so many things in recent decades that he was bound to get lucky on occasion and be correct. Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day. But some of the stuff he's come out with over the years is so obviously batshit mental, that it's impossible to take him seriously about anything. The fable of the boy who cried wolf springs to mind. Unfortunately, given some of his recent postings, MLT has gone the same way. Whatever salient points he may have, he's completely blown his credibility now. That's why I and many others are not interested in anything he has to say anymore. It's got nothing to do with just blindly believing the mainstream narrative.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Not a good news day for the Tories today. First of all the Rwanda deportation plan is deemed unlawful by the Court of Appeal (unsurprising), and now a new report accuses certain ministers of a coordinated campaign of interference into the Johnson partygate investigation (even more unsurprising). -
I don't think it's necessarily the competence of the operators that's the issue, because I agree that whoever runs it there is still the constant, unlimited human capacity for fallibility. However, if you offer me a choice of a public service being run by incompetent people whose overriding responsibility is to its customers, rather than to its shareholders, it's a no-brainer really.

Where are they getting this bollocks from? Do they seriously expect people to believe that someone inside the club has been in contact with the press and told them exactly how much we would be willing to accept for Tella? Do me a favour. This is speculative reporting at its worst and can be safely ignored IMO.

Now it's time for the "legendary singer from the 60s whose voice has now completely gone and it's actually a bit cringey to watch" slot. Last year it was Diana Ross. This year it's Candi Staton's turn.

Alison Goldfrapp smashing it on the Park stage right now.

Oh dear lord, Matt. I can think of plenty of good reasons not to set foot in a Nandos. This, however, isn't one of them.

This review of GNR doesn't pull any punches... https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/reviews/guns-n-roses-review-glastonbury-festival-b2363553.html "Rose makes the whole thing sound like a Muppet Show pastiche of hard rock. It’s his voice: a creature that, were you to take it to a vet, would come home in a cardboard box. Mumbling vague approximations of English words as if chronically constipated (if you’ve hit the goat curry hard enough, you’ll feel his intestinal pain), he flips between a lower register that resembles a clogged lawnmower and a higher one that sounds like Barry Gibb suffering the mother of all wedgies."

Sparks are always entertaining

Just saw a guy in a 1996 (Sanderson) Saints shirt in the crowd at the Park stage.

Not sure about the outfit though 🤔

Enjoying Gabriels. This guy's voice is phenomenal!

Of course there is a strong link, but not all Jews are Israeli, and not all Israelis are Jews, so whether it is deliberate or just born of ignorance, it's still fallacious (and bordering on antisemitic) to use the words interchangeably.
-
See, all you've done is dig yourself even deeper here. You are conflating Jewish people with Israeli people. Perhaps not deliberately, but language matters in issues as sensitive as this. The Israeli government are not the leaders of the Jewish people. There are plenty of Jewish people, Israeli or otherwise, who abhor the actions of the Israeli government and their despicable and inhumane treatment of the Palestinian people (as do I). Have you ever wondered why certain people want to "twist and misinterpret" what you say Soggy? It doesn't come from absolutely nowhere (Turkish aside; his obsession with you is just plain weird) . I do sense from you that you have a strong social conscience and moral compass, and I genuinely think your heart is in the right place. But I also see you frequently trip yourself up by using clumsy language that leaves you open to criticism. This thread is a prime example of that. So I'm not having a pop at you, I'm actually just trying to do you a favour by pointing out that you might want to consider the wording you use more carefully in future to try and avoid this happening.
-
Yep, seems that way. If the structure failed and the sub imploded at that depth, they would have been crushed instantly. Much better way to go than suffocating to death one by one slowly in total darkness.
-
For which I will be at a festival myself... In Sheffield! 😭
-
Fuck me. Where do you even start with this? 🤦
-
I assure you I haven't. I abhor the persecution that successive Israeli governments have visited on the Palestinian people, but I am always careful to aim my criticism directly at them rather than at Jewish people on the whole. I'm sure you did not intend to tar all Jews with the same brush, but the way you worded it could have made it look like you were. And in so doing, you invite accusations of antisemitism.
-
You need to be more careful with your language here Soggy. It looks like you're portraying the entire Jewish diaspora as a single homogeneous entity and blaming them all for the actions of the Israeli government. There’s a word for that. Can you guess what it is?
-
Fucking hell Matt. You really didn't engage your brain before posting this did you 🤦 This is the problem with him. Just like David Icke before him, he may well have some valid points and genuine questions worth further exploration. But they get lost in the noise of all the rest of the deranged, conspiratorial bullshit he posts, so it's impossible to take him seriously.

Gonna get flamed for this, but... I preferred last season's kit. Although the 87-89 was current when I started going to the Dell, I never liked it. I thought the design worked OK for Villa and Coventry, but with ours being red, the side with the white stripes just looks pink from a distance (the back of the Milton Rd stand, for instance). Awful kit.

He's done it. Good on him.
