And none of our players got in the ref's ear about it.
-
Brighton doing what we normally do: wait until being 3-0 before starting to look remotely threatening.
-
Yep. They look utter shit for months on end, then pull one of these unexpected performances out of the bag just when it matters. As much as I would find it hilarious to see them relegated, I'm probably quite glad they won't be in the Championship with us next season TBH.
-
Well I reckon this result will guarantee them to finish above Leicester, cos they're not looking likely to get any more points looking at their remaining fixtures.
-
Looking like it. Jammy cunts.
-
Can't see it, personally. Everton have been every bit as shit as we have so far in 2023, and are just as incapable of winning their must-win games. Brighton should win at a canter.
-
3-0 now at HT. Not looking good for Leicester. After Forest beat us tonight, they will only be out of the relegation places on GD.
-
That second half was no worse than we have been at times, but it was equally as bad as some, so I would class it as joint worst.
-
True, but given what we now know, he wouldn't have been as hopeless as Jones or Selles with his selections and subs. At least we sometimes looked like we had some kind of plan under Ralph. That's something we haven't managed even once since he was sacked.
-
Forest guaranteed 3 points against us next week, and Everton and Leicester play each other tomorrow. I think the loser of that game could be in real trouble.
-
I know I'm going to take some stick for this, but.... Should have kept Ralph.
-
Why is it taking so long to confirm something so fucking obvious?
-
Everything is going to be okay... We've brought on the big guns A Armstrong and Elyounoussi.
-
Look on the bright side... If Bazunu was in goal we'd be at least 4-1 behind by now.
-
Don't you just love how Bednarek always looks to blame someone else when he has been completely useless and left his man free in the box? No, me neither. Prick.

IIRC in 2005 we at least managed to string a few results together in March to give us some hope, and we went into the last game with a chance of staying up. And we also had the excitement of that Norwich game. Can you imagine this lot serving up a performance like that? Not a chance. Everything about this season is much, much worse. We've never once looked like going on a run of results, because we have by far the worst forward line the PL has ever seen. We might have got away with our defending this season if we had the attacking options we had in 2005, but we would need to keep a clean sheet in every single game just to stay outside the relegation zone all the time we are pinning our goalscoring hopes on the likes of A. Armstrong, Adams, Djenepo, Walcott and Elyounoussi.
-
Fixed it for you. There's just no creativity and no finishing ability in this team whatsoever. It's pathetic. We might have got away with our defending a bit more this season if we weren't so utterly incapable of even testing the opposing keepers up the other end.
-
Ah yes. I've blocked most of this season out of my memory so I'd forgotten about that one. I think my point is still valid though.
-
If that means them staying up at Everton's expense then bring it on. We're fucked anyway so we might as well indulge in a little schadenfreude.
-
I just don't understand how a group of highly paid, professional sportsmen can contrive to be so consistently inept, week after week. Every single time we've had a 'must win' home game against a lower half team, we've fucked it up. I mean, surely by the law of averages we could have managed to fluke a win in at least one of those games with a massive slice of luck and the other team being just worse than us on the night, surely? But no. We fuck it up... Every. Single. Time. You make your own luck. The reason we haven't had any good luck all season is because we haven't worked hard enough to earn it.
-
Everton losing 5-1 now.
-
Well that just sums up our season doesn't it.
-
Losing 3-0 now. Might have a read of GoT at full time to cheer myself up a bit.
-
Jesus fucking Christ. I've watched some horrific performances this season but this tonight tops the lot - worse even than that Forest game. We're being given a football lesson by Bournemouth. No intensity, no fight, no plan. Just a completely disjointed bunch of headless fucking chickens trying to make it look like they actually care. Without doubt the worst Saints team I have seen in 35 years of supporting them.
-
Think that works both ways. When they practice the attacking set piece routines they probably slap each other on the back at how good they must be, completely forgetting that when they come up against competent defenders they won't yield any success.
