The Last of Us is every bit as good as everyone says it is. It's more character driven than action, and Pedro Pascal is just so watchable. Really enjoying it so far. Also, S3 of Picard launched on Friday, and there is a clear departure from the previous seasons in episode 1. I love how they have successfully recreated the epic cinematic feel from the early movies in certain aspects of it.

Like clockwork!

There's a M Le Tissier playing for England against Italy this afternoon. Her name is Maya and apparently she's not related to Matt, although her dad Darren played with him when they were young.

Was intrigued by JWP's post match comments about Selles, along the lines of "he's given us a familiar way of playing". Very telling, and a quite obvious little dig at Jones because nobody seemed to know what they were supposed to be doing during his tenure. What we saw yesterday was basically Ralphball but with the right substitutions made at the right time. If we can repeat this at Elland Road next week and show that it wasn't just a fluke against Chelsea then he definitely deserves to be offered the job IMO.

I'm sure someone else must have made this comment already, but... Stuey returns from injury and starts - we win. Coincidence? I think not.

MOTD highlighting Jack Stephens' outstanding performance for Bournemouth yesterday 😐

Ah, OK. Thanks for correcting. Difficult to tell from the one angle they showed and I assumed it was AMN because it was in the RB area.

Could do with Meslier having another off day. Can only imagine what the meltdown on here would be like if Bazunu had let in that cross/shot from Coleman.

I was out yesterday for a kids birthday party so didn't get to watch any of the game live. Just watched MOTD and it looks like we were good value for the win with some really committed defending in the second half. Another great FK goal from JWP. Good block by AMN to prevent a certain goal but there were two other moments just on the highlights where he made a total mug of himself - getting out-muscled by the man mountain Raheem Sterling, and then jumping over another Chelsea player, missing the ball completely and leaving him a free run into the box. Perraud's reaction to stopping that shot on the line is one of the best moments by far of this shitty season. More of that please. Well done Saints and well done Rueben Selles.

And aggressive?

So what the hell is going on with DCC and Orsic then?

Much happier with Marsch than any of Lampard, Gerrard or Rooney. None of those 3 have shown any real ability in management and have so far managed to get jobs solely based on their reputations as players. People wanting them claim they would command the respect of the players, but I know for a fact that's not the case with Lampard. At Everton he was aloof and distant, almost as if he just expected the players to respect him because of his own achievements as a player (and that's straight from the mouth of someone in the squad). I would much rather have a manager who has a clear pedigree in actual management than either of those three.

Are you sure about the last one? 🤔

Ashley Williams has always come across as pretty level-headed and honest IMO. Alongside what we have witnessed and heard recently, I have no difficulty believing every word of this.
-
There's a very strong, and recent, body of evidence which demonstrates that he very much doesn't get the best out of a squad of players. No thanks.

Great (but depressing) write up in the Indy... Nathan Jones: How ludicrous manager dragged Southampton towards disaster | The Independent
-
Well we've already beaten them once this season, and they're in worse form now than they were then, soooo......
-
Have you just completely forgotten about Alcaraz or do you just not like him?
-
Let's just take a little time to reflect on this from 3 months ago... So what was this clear identity that you promised us Nathan? Because at no point during your tenure did I see anything remotely resembling one on the pitch.

The only Saints manager ever to not achieve a single league point on home turf. Even Steve Wigley managed one home win (and it was against Pompey as well so should count double in his favour).

"It was only ever a fool's hope" Gandalf the White, at some other point in the trilogy that I can't quite remember right now.

If that's an accidental typo/autocorrect, it's the most appropriate one of all time.
