  1. Walcott with the chance to rescue it with a free header. Misses.
  2. Why did we wait until we were behind before we started threatening in the 2nd half FFS?
  3. Why does it have to be one extreme or the other? Has it never occurred to you there is a middle ground position?
  4. No idea. He's done literally nothing. Like playing with 10 men.
  5. Macca beaten at his near post, just for a change.
  6. Jesus! Been coming. We've been awful 2nd half.
  7. That touch was dreadul. It's sad to see how far he has fallen. He made a deent contribution in the early part of last season but he's just been hopeless since that last injury.
  8. Lyanco on for Romeu.
  9. Probably because Adams played a lot of minutes for Scotland last weekend and Armstrong is fresher.
  10. Norwich pressing high up but not getting the ball. Good. let them wear themselves out.
  11. Not really seen enough from Ely today. I hope Ralph doesn't leave it too long to hook him and bring on some fresh legs.
  12. Poor effort from Moi. Needs to be doing better there.
  13. Adams checked his run. If he'd kept going he could have got on the end of it.
  14. They just showed a replay and he swung his leg in the way of KWP, breaking his stride, and didn't get the ball. It's a foul.
  15. Looked like a pretty clear foul on KWP to me.
  16. I don't see it as a particularly defensive selection. It'll likely be Romeu sitting in front of the CBs, with JWP and Diallo in a more advanced midfield role which they can both do very well. With Redmond, Djenepo and Stu all missing, I'd rather have Diallo in there than Walcott, although he'll probably make an appearance from the bench today given our lack of available options in that position.
  17. You do realise that US courts allow TV cameras, right? Forgoing for the moment the insanity of allowing 17-year-olds to own military style assault rifles, this kid traveled across the state line to a town where he doesn't live, shot and killed 2 unarmed men, and has used 'self-defense' as his defense. He didn't need to be there. He deliberately put himself into that situation, armed with a rifle. If he had just stayed home, those men would still be alive. Have you sen the video of him walking towards the police with his rifle slung over his chest, hands up, while nearby people shouted to them that he had just shot and killed someone, and they just ignored him and drove on by? Just imagine how differently that would have played out if he had been black. America is fucked.
  18. Yeah we got a late penalty when VAR ruled that although the initial foul On KWP was outside the box, there was a secondary contact inside so they awarded a penalty that gave us a win we didn't really deserve cos we didn't play well that night. I'd have been fuming if I was a Brighton fan, but then we were on the other end of some truly shitty decisions last season so it's swings and roundabouts really.
  19. It'll be nothing compared to when compulsory metering is inevitably introduced in the coming years... https://nic.org.uk/app/uploads/NIC-Preparing-for-a-Drier-Future-26-April-2018.pdf "The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs should enable companies to implement compulsory metering by the 2030s beyond water stressed areas, by amending regulations before the end of 2019 and requiring all companies to consider systematic roll out of smart meters as a first step in a concerted campaign to improve water efficiency." There was no change to the regulations before 2019 (this was only a recommendation), but it's only a matter of time.
  20. That would be very fitting wouldn't it 😉
  21. Water companies could face legal action after investigation launched into sewage treatment works https://www.gov.uk/government/news/water-companies-could-face-legal-action-after-investigation-launched-into-sewage-treatment-works The Environment Agency (EA) and Ofwat have launched a major investigation into sewage treatment works, after new checks led to water companies admitting that they could be releasing unpermitted sewage discharges into rivers and watercourses. This investigation will involve more than 2000 sewage treatment works, with any company caught breaching their legal permits facing enforcement action, including fines or prosecutions. Fines can be up to 10% of annual turnover for civil cases, or unlimited in criminal proceedings. In recent years the EA and Ofwat have been pushing water companies to improve their day-to-day performance and meet progressively higher standards to protect the environment. As part of this, the EA has been checking that water companies comply with requirements and has asked them to fit new monitors at sewage treatment works. This is to make sure the right levels of wastewater are being treated before overflows are allowed to enter the environment. Following this action by the EA, several water companies have now revealed that many of their sewage treatment works may not be compliant. This would mean that water companies are in breach of their permits and failing to meet their legal duties. EA and Ofwat are now looking into all water and sewerage companies to assess the scale of the problem. Any company caught breaching these minimum standards will face a range of possible enforcement action – up to and including prosecution.
  22. I know Gaston Ramirez lived in Chilworth because he was next door neighbour to the MD of the company I was working for at the time.
  23. Yeah same. Certainly not to the point I would happily singing a song invoking an imaginary deity to bail him out anyway.
  24. Ok yeah I guess there is a distinction to be made between being good in the air and providing a headed goal threat. I'm not disagreeing about the dribbling though. A couple of times in the second half against Villa, Che showed some lovely skill to bring the ball out of our half and get us on the front foot again. Not seen anything like that from Broja yet, but that's not to say he isn't capable. FWIW, I really like Che and I appreciate what he brings to the team. I'm pretty confident that, in time, Broja will prove he is a much better finisher but there's more to it than that. I'm just glad we have these kind of selection headaches really. It makes a nice change.
  25. It's all very well providing stats for aerial duels won, but that doesn't reflect what I've seen with my own eyes. Che has many qualities but he has never, ever looked a threat from corners. Whereas in only a couple of starts, Broja has shown himself to be far more dangerous in that regard.
