When you start comparing Johnson to Brown, you are reinforcing my point for me. He was hopelessly out of his depth too. -

You just have to look at BoJo's body language though. He doesn't have a clue how to deal with such a situation and looks like he is desperately waiting for someone to rescue him. He's hopelessly out of his depth. -

His first proper outing onto the streets since he became PM, and he just looks utterly lost and unable to counter any of the guy's points, or deal with the situation in any kind of competent manner. It's a total embarrassment and shows just how useless he is when he has no script to read from or his usual loveable buffoon act won't work. That's the point I was making. -
I disagree with your top two. Bertrand at his best has performed much better for us than Shaw ever did IMO. And yeah, as per above post, why isn't Wayne Bridge - veteran of our 2003 FA cup finalists team included?

Yep. Very statesmanlike. Already showing a magnificent air of authority and leadership, commanding the love and respect of his loyal subjects... https://twitter.com/bernardo_flynn/status/1169707508488900609 -
There's a couple of multistory car parks on Eyre Street, on the other side of the roundabout at the top of Bramall Lane. If you're looking for free parking, then there's plenty in the residential roads on the other side of the A61. But it gets busy and the closer you get to KO the further away you'll have to go to find a space. Easy to get out of town and head south from here though. Just go through Chesterfield on the A61 and join the M1 at J29.

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal
Sheaf Saint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Yep. Exactly this. If Cedric closes down James then Mata would be unlikely to score from there. He would more than likely put in a low cross, but Bednarek is well positioned to close him down and Danso and JV are tight enough to their attackers to stop them from scoring. And with Cedric tight to James then Mata can't lay it back to him. So I reassert what I said before - there were other team failings that led to the overload, but Cedric's backing off prevented us from snuffing out the threat. It's a regular aspect of his game that has cost us time and time again. -
Chatting to a Villa fan at work, he said they are just waiting for him to 'get up to speed'. They'll be waiting a while then. Pace was never one of his attributes.

I disagree. The EFL cup final in 2017 was much bigger.

Yep, we're not short of watering holes up here. Kelham Island has become hipster central in the last few years, so as well as the Kelham Tavern and the Fat Cat there's loads of little bars and eateries that have sprung up. If you like your real ale pubs then just up the hill from the Sheaf is the Brothers Arms, which is another favourite of mine. It used to be a proper dive and was boarded up for years, but the people running it now have turned it into one of the best pubs in the area.

The Decathlon car park itself has massively reduced in size since a large sinkhole opened up in it a few years back and it's still all fenced off. The brownfield car park just near to it has now been partially developed on too (unsurprisingly) but I think there is still some P&D parking available there.
-
No, sorry. It's a bit of a nightmare round our way on match days. Gets pretty gridlocked with people looking for unrestricted on-street parking. It is available around the Sheaf View, but you have to arrive early (at least 2-3 hours before KO) to get a space.

Apparently the Cagliari fans' monkey chants aimed at Romelu Lukaku on Sunday were a 'sign of respect', and not in any way racist https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49576840

The Sheaf View in Heeley (hence the username) - about 10-15 mins walk from the ground.

Indeed. I have no idea why the mods continue to allow this tedious nonsense to infest thread after thread. It really is no surprise that most of the decent posters have long since abandoned this place.

Or functioning education system.

You're the second person I've seen now make a similar comment. I didn't get to watch that game, so how bad was he?
-
Slightly tenuous, seeing as it's getting on for 30 years since he left, but Neil Ruddock is on Celebrity Masterchef. Pretty obvious he likes his food too. Hard to believe he used to be a professional sportsman.

England to play Euro qualifier at St Mary's in September

I thought he was banned from SMS. -
I just hope we manage to put in a better performance than we did last time we played there in the EFL cup in 2014. We were atrocious that night. Blades so far remind me of Hudds two years ago. They've got a good fighting spirit and they've kept their momentum going from the end of their promotion season. But they are a limited side in terms of quality. Very much looking forward to seeing my local pub full of Saints fans again though

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal
Sheaf Saint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Yes, he was left in a situation where whichever option he chose, we would have been in trouble. But he still has to make a decision, not back off and do nothing. If James had played it to Mata then IMO we would have had a much better chance of defending the threat than just allowing someone who is known to have a good long range shot on him the freedom to have a go unchallenged. -
Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal
Sheaf Saint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
If he'd got close enough to James he could have prevented either a shot or a pass to Mata. Instead he backed off into nomansland and could do neither. Yes he was left exposed, but he needs to make a decision in that situation. If he had closed James down then yes he could have played it outside to Mata, but there would still be work for him to do to get a shooting chance, and Bednarek would not have had to charge out to attempt the block that Cedric should have made himself. Therefore he would have been in a decent position to defend against Mata. -
Yep. We were looking the team most likely to score again up until the red card. Given how much pressure they put us under after that, I'll gladly take that point. Not a chance we would have held on to that last season, so the signs of improvement are there.

That's a great save from Gunn. Kept us in it!
