Fantastic through ball to a Utd player there from Shane Long. FFS!
-
Commentator reckons Utd have been much better since they made their tactical switch with the substitutions. Nothing to do with us having a player sent off then.
-
Yoshida on for Ings
-
Correct.
-
Yep, very silly. The first yellow was harsh, but regardless of that he should have been much more careful.
-
Armstrong on for Boufal.
-
YES! It's about time JV scored a header (or any goal, come to that).
-
Poor from Adams. Has to do better there, because opportunities like that will be few and far between today.
-
That was a decent cross for once from Cedric.
-
Time and space, yet a pathetic attempt at a cross from cedric.

Well I hate to tempt fate here, but it looks like we have ridden the storm a little. That 15-min period after they scored was horrific, so to have come through it still only 0-1 down is probably the best we can hope for at this stage. I'm (perhaps foolishly)clinging on to the fact that we seem to have been so much better in the second half of games so far this season. If we're going to get anything out of this, you sense that it's going to come from Boufal. By far our best attacking player so far.

I'm usually as optimistic as they come, but I really worry we are going to get roasted here if we don't buck our ideas up. Defensively we just can't seem to get anywhere near their players when they get forward. It's too easy for them to waltz into our box and it's only a matter of time before we concede more.

Cedric innit. It's what he does best.
-
Good effort from Boufal there, just wide with De Gea beaten.
-
Even the direct quotes from the player saying he had made the decision to leave and "there is no turning back" ? I don't believe even the Daily Mail would sink so low as to print a completely made up quote like that, let alone the Echo.
-
Yeah I did. Thanks.
-
When and how did he do that?
-
So that's 3 of our forward players out injured following the Fulham game then. Great I thought it was reported Obafemi only had cramp. Is he even capable of playing 90 minutes without getting crocked?
-
It's quite obvious why they chose that game, given Newport's cup run and giant-killing achievements last season.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

But that was on the basis of promises by the leave campaign of leaving with a deal. There isn't, and never has been, any popular mandate for a no-deal Brexit. Given what we now know about what a no deal Brexit will actually entail, let's just imagine for a second what the Vote Leave campaigning would have looked like if they had a) known what we know now and b) been honest about it: Vote Brexit for: Massive queues and delays at borders, especially at Dover where we import most of our RoRo goods from Europe Shortages of food, medicine, water treatment chemicals etc... Economic hardship for possibly up to 30 years while we negotiate worse trade deals with the rest of the world than the one we already have as part of the EU The imposition of a hard border between NI and Eire and a return to bloody sectarian violence The eventual breakup of the UK when Scotland inevitably becomes independent Ask yourself - what effect would this have had on the referendum result? Do you honestly think it would still have gone the way it did?

It's kind of backfired on him hasn't it. He clearly thought he would be in much greater demand, but the lack of interest from the bigger clubs he was hoping to impress speaks volumes. It's been reported that he was told we would let him leave after two years, but I rather suspect it was more a case of "if you perform well and a big club comes in for you then after two years we won't stand in your way", rather than giving him any cast iron promises of any move at that time. The way I see it, he now has two options. He can either cut his losses and accept a sideways (at best) move to a club like Besiktas, provided the club accept their offer of course, or he can buckle down and put in the required effort this season with us to earn a much more glamorous and lucrative offer next summer. Personally, I think he would be stupid to do anything other than the latter. Given his obvious talent and our lack of quality and depth in his position, it really wouldn't take much for him to force his way into our first team and become a regular starter. And if he can do that, and make his good performances the norm rather than the exception, then he will have a glut of offers much better than Besiktas come the end of the season.

I doubt it TBH. Sky will most likely be more interested in the top six teams against lower league opposition, like MK Dons v Liverpool or Colchester v Spurs.
-
Will still have to be a midweek game though.
