  1. Indeed. If Trump can increase his vote share among Latino voters, despite spending the last 4 years insinuating not-so subtly that all Mexicans are essentially violent rapists, then anything is possible in that regard.
  2. Yes Boris, of course. Because, nobody in Europe eats fish at home do they. It must be ALL because the restaurants are closed and absolutely nothing to do with your cobbled together catastrophe of a Brexit deal. Earlier in the day he was saying it is all the exporters' fault for not filling in the forms correctly.
  3. Sometimes in life, you have to hit rock bottom before you can start to climb again. America probably needed a Trump presidency as a kind of nadir moment, so that the many underlying problems that have been bubbling away under the surface could be brought to bear and addressed once and for all. Either that or things are going to get a whole lot worse. The way the world has gone politically over the last few years, it's really difficult to make any predictions these days.
  4. It's always very easy to pin the blame on a defender, but people need to realise that Madisson may be a little scrote but he is also a very, very good player. He's done that kind of thing to much better defenders than Stephens, and that finish was absolutely top class. Blasted high into the roof of the net leaving Macca no chance because of the pinpoint accuracy and power. Stephens actually did a decent enough job of shepherding him wide, and had Madisson missed (which 9 times out of 10 he would have), we would now be praising him for really good defending. Sometimes you have to just hold your hands up and acknowledge that you got beat by superior skill. The second goal, however... The less said about Stephens' contribution to that the better, but the game was already lost by that point so it wasn't exactly a pivotal moment in the match.
  5. Leicester look like they are tiring, and the changes by both teams seems to have given us a bit more momentum. It's not out of the question.
  6. If it had been on target it would have hit the defender.
  7. Great. Another injury.
  8. Anyone please got a decent stream?
  9. Exactly this. The power he put into that gave Macca no chance to react. It had to be perfectly hit to score from there, and it was. No keeper gonna save that.
  10. No, the stream I'm watching didn't show it.
  11. Am I the only one who doesn't think it was a foul on Diallo? He tried to dribble his way out of trouble in his own half and got caught out. It was no different from what we were all slating Armstrong for recently.
  12. Anybody got a decent stream? My usual go to ones are pretty unreliable tonight.
  13. Yes, I remember vividly when thousands of Hilary supporters stormed the Capitol and tried to prevent the certification of the election because they didn't accept the result.
  14. This doesn't seem quite as ridiculous and clichéd anymore, given the bizarre decision to go ahead with the Cheltenham festival last year.
  15. When the leading man and leading lady absolutely have to get it on, despite how implausible their mutual attraction might be and how irrelevant it is to the main narrative. When the hero is in a gunfight and is stood in the open getting shot at from all sides, but still manages to kill everyone and end the scene unscathed. When the hero does finally get shot, but only sustains a very minor injury and still manages to kill everyone and save the day.
  16. Yep. A whole lot better this morning.
  17. Perhaps start with Adams and N'lundulu up front, with Walcott and Armstrong behind. Will leave us an incredibly weak bench though.
  18. Tella injured as well. Probably start with Adams and Walcott up top. Having said that, with Redmond and Djenepo both unavailable, who do we pair with Armstrong in the AM roles? Perhaps move JWP up and play Diallo alongside Romeu? Sounds like a right headache for Ralph?
  19. Jesus fucking christ. Yeah I bet all those fish sat rotting in warehouses and on quaysides are waving their little flags in jubilation right now.
  20. Starmer just took Johnson apart on this at PMQs. When he asked the PM to address the issue, he said the images of the food parcels were shameful and disgraceful and pinned the blame squarely on the private contractors. Starmer then proceeded to read out the government's own guidance on what contents they should include, and they match pretty much exactly with what's been reported.
  21. Once again, the government being shamed into a change of policy by a young footballer.
  22. You are spectacularly missing the point here, which is that there is simply no need for a middle man in this situation to cream ANY money off the top. Just issue vouchers to the parents and let them decide how best to feed their kids with it FFS. Even if you think that their mark-up rate is reasonable, they are still riding the gravy train of government funds, taking food out of the mouths of disadvantaged kids, in the middle of a pandemic, to line their own pockets, which is just shameless profiteering at the expense of the most vulnerable. It's absolutely sick. Even 1% of that money going to a private company is too much. I've been following this story closely for the last couple of days and I am horrified at some of the pictures I've seen of the 'hampers' that parents have been given. I'm lucky that my wife and I are comfortable enough to not have to rely on this scheme, but if we weren't we would be screwed if we got given such an inflexible selection of food as our daughter is the world's fussiest eater and there is virtually nothing in any of them that she would actually eat, save for the bread.
  23. Some representatives have reported that a number of GOP reps were refusing to wear a mask while locked in the chamber, and were surprisingly calm. Was their being unmasked a deliberate way for the attackers to identify them and leave them unharmed perhaps? Ordinarily I would dismiss this kind of thinking as too far-fetched, but given some of what has been coming out in the last few days, I really wouldn't say it's outside the realms of possibility. The implications of that are truly horrific.
