There are already plenty of laws that are open to interpretation. I think it's fairly easy to be able to say whether or not a player is in a position to get a shot away or not. If a foul prevents a shooting opportunity, intentional or not, then yeah give a penalty. But when a player is running away from goal to try and get to a loose ball, it's obvious they're not in a position to shoot. Giving a team a free shot at goal because of an accidental coming together when there was zero chance of that player shooting is too great a reward IMO.

Looked to me like they just tried to step into the same space at the same time, and because Torp's foot landed a split second before Shea's there was no way he could have pulled out of it. Should never be worth a penalty IMO, because it's too great a reward for the situation, but there we go.

Well after the Fulham game a week ago, I'd have snapped your hand off for four points from WBA and Cov away. I didn't expect it to happen the way round that it did, if course. But a great return from those two games (which, apparently, we had already completely blown our chances of thanks to beating Fulham). We're still in touch and it's still in our hands. Just think how much healthier our position might look if we had sacked Still at the right time following that debacle at Blackburn. So much credit must go to Tonda and Garner (and everyone else involved) for our recent turnaround. We're light years away from that hopeless looking bunch who were regularly shitting the bed and totally collapsing in the second half of games earlier in the season. We're playing with confidence and determination, and look so much more organised and hard to beat. Gonna be an interesting and entertaining run-in I reckon.

I'll never understand how accidentally making contact with someone who is running AWAY from goal warrants a penalty. Yes, yes... I know that's what the laws of the game say, but it's stupid IMO. Pens should be awarded only for a clear DOGSO situations, and all other infractions inside the box (like yesterday) should result in an indirect FK.

I couldn't watch today cos I was out with no signal. As soon as it returned the first thing that pinged up on my phone was a message from a Cov supporting mate saying "still can't beat you cunts 😠". Took another 10 mins for me to get a strong enough signal to find out if that meant we had drawn or won. Just watched the highlights - that save from Peretz in the first half was absolutely outstanding. Like others have already said, we haven't seen a save like that since Niemi. Playoff hunt very much still on.

Yeah I'm really not sure what more Tonda could have done tonight. The guys on the pitch just didn't do the business tonight, and he made all the right subs.

The number of times I've seen us try and fail to hold on to a 1-0 lead against a team who've been dreadful, by conceding a late equaliser having wasted numerous chances to increase our lead. Why can't we ever be on the other end of that?
