You would think it would be quite simple to include clauses in players' contracts along the lines of "barring injury, the player will attend training and at all times make himself available to play". Would make it a lot easier to terminate the contracts of these chancers. Having said that, we really don't (and probably never will) know the full story with ABK. It might be that he actually is making himself available to play, but the club have decided that he's such a monumental bell end that they've told him to stay away for the good of the dressing room.

Yeah I think it came at him a bit too suddenly and he just couldn't adjust his stride to make a connection. It happens sometimes, even to top level strikers. One of those things and not a reflection of his ability as far as I'm concerned.

For the Wrexham chance where they were in behind but Stephens got back and made a last ditch tackle, Edwards made a total hash of controlling a simple ball, which let the attacker in, and looked like he was wearing concrete boots when he tried to chase back. That was just one of numerous facepalm moments I saw from him. I certainly don't want to make him a scapegoat, but he's gonna need to vastly improve on yesterday's performance if he wants to become a first team regular for us.

There was one moment I remember when he did show that pace to get back and snuff out an attack. But yeah he was sloppy in possession a few times and gave the ball away needlessly. Overall he looks like he'll be decent though.

I don't think there's a single person here who isn't delighted that we won, but it's totally fair to also point out the flaws in our performance. It was the first competitive game under a new manager, and there were plenty of learning points to take from it. Wrexham really weren't very good and we made it a lot harder than it should have been with a very ineffective forward line in the first half. One or two players were very poor so it's perfectly reasonable to discuss that while still celebrating the three points.
