He's got deep personal business ties with the Saudis, but I'm not certain how this current action would benefit him in that regard.

EFL to vote on extending the Championship playoffs
Sheaf Saint replied to badgerx16's topic in The Saints
My thinking was that the two teams with the most points/best GD have a greater chance of reaching the final. With the system that's being proposed you could end up with the teams that finished 7th and 8th facing each other at Wembley. There should be greater jeopardy for the lower placed teams IMO. But on reflection, I guess that also means that one of the two teams in 3rd and 4th is also guaranteed not to be in the final. So I get that it's not a perfect solution. -

Oh I've misunderstood then. I thought 3rd and 4th would play each other and the winner go straight through, but admit I've not fully read the proposal. That would seem fairer to me. -

I guess the thinking is that one of the teams in 3rd and 4th is guaranteed to be in the final. Whereas currently it is possible for the two teams in 5th and 6th to get through. They should do away with the two legs though, and just give the home advantage to the team that finished higher. -

That was my first season of going to watch games, and this was the first win I ever witnessed. The celebration in the Milton end when that penalty went in was what got me hooked for life. -
Ruben Selles sacked by Zaragoza after an 8 game winless run leaving them bottom of the table. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/25900591.former-southampton-boss-selles-sacked-second-time-season/?dicbo=v2-6NmxOmf Maybe it's time he found a new career?

He's clearly just trolling now. Nobody is actually this stupid in real life.

Latest from inside Bahrain is that the US facilities have now been completely destroyed.

Indeed. And despite having a virtually limitless supply, they are still not where they want to be 🤨

I hate to be the bearer of bad news Nic, but perhaps your adopted country isn't quite the peaceful paradise you think it is...

My brother reports that it has been much quieter today. Over the weekend they could hear the drones flying overhead but there's been none today. Still no confirmation of what's happening with the funeral though 😥

No, none of us do. Which is why it's so utterly fucking stupid to be making suggestions like she must be ok if she's going to award ceremonies.

Fair. I had a mate who grew up in Hedge End but supported Man U. Every time he got ribbed about it he would reply that it was because his dad was a lifelong fan. My response to that was always: "and if your dad was a lifelong fan of Scunthorpe or Grimsby Town, who would you support then?" Needless to say, he never had an answer to that. -
What the fuck does that even mean? Are you suggesting that anyone with any kind of mental illness should just lock themselves up at home and never go out in public? Ever? What fucking century are you living in?

Terrified, that's how they're feeling. My 10 year old nephew lost his mum to cancer on Thursday they are supposed to be burying her in Wednesday but the church, along with many other public spaces, has been closed. He's shut himself in his room crying continuously, because on top of just having lost his mum to cancer, his home country (he was born in Bahrain and it's the only home he has ever known) is on fucking fire. I should be in the departure lounge right now, on my way to support my brother through an incredibly difficult time for him. But instead I'm sat here at home feeling absolutely helpless, constantly checking the news and waiting for updates to confirm they are still safe. My brother is trying to get a funeral arranged for his wife, while at the same time trying to reassure his son that everything is okay despite the fact that they can hear the fucking explosions from their apartment. It's utterly fucked.

We already tried our best to get knocked out by Leicester. The management will be pissed if we manage to fuck it up and win again.

The Zombie/James Bree song is embarrassingly shit. -
That rant was hilarious. One of the reasons he cited for not posting anymore? Public sector workers posting during 'working' hours 🤣 Apparently it's never once occurred to him that not all of us in the public sector work 9-5 Monday to Friday, or that we are allowed to take breaks.

I'd love to see the look on the steward's face if I tried to take one of those into SMS.

Gonna get pelters for this, but... I don't hate Pompey. -
Unlike him to exaggerate. He's usually so calm and measured with his words.

Just watching him on LK show. He quite clearly isn't siding with the Iranian regime, just questioning if the events of the last few days are really the best course of action for the world and for the people of Iran. He's got a valid point. Us following Bush into Iraq was an absolute clusterfuck and he's obviously keen to avoid the UK being dragged into another similar situation. But yes, I agree with Whelk that he shows incredible naivety as well. He claimed that Trump was negotiating in bad faith - which he clearly was - but you'd have to be a fucking idiot to believe that Iran weren't as well.

Defence Secretary on LK show refusing to be drawn on whether or not he thinks the strikes on Iran were within international law.
