Lots of assumptions being made here, and plenty of people willing to use this as a stick to beat SR with, without knowing all (or, indeed, any) of the facts. SAA does look very promising, but he might have made it clear that he doesn't want to stay. We might well have got a higher fee if he had stayed for a few more years and maybe had a successful loan spell or two, but we simply don't know the full circumstances here. €10m pure profit from a FFP perspective may well turn out to be good business in the long run.
-
I thought it was already firmly established that he is well equipped.
-
At this rate we'll be lucky if we score 5 more goals all season, let alone in one game.
-
O You reckon he'll score a brace and rescue a draw then?
-
I've decided that instead of watching Saints games, I'm going to spend 90 mins every Saturday punching myself in the gonads. I think it would be less painful.
-
Like a hot knife through butter. Fucking pathetic.
-
Fucking awful from VAR. If it takes that long to make a decision then it's not clear and obvious is it. And for fucks sake Macca, you could at least try and make it difficult for the pen taker. Diving so early like that, he might as well have just stood by the post and pointed to where Isak should put it.
-
Yeah, fair enough. Like I said, it was just speculation. Anyway it's all moot really, because if he has to retire due to injury then, as some gave already suggested, the club will have some kind of insurance in place for that eventuality.
-
No, I can't. I said it was pure speculation about something that's not impossible, but admittedly not likely. And when I said lower level, I was thinking more like non-league than just one division down. Would have thought that was obvious really, but then I should have realised who it was I was replying to.

If anyone's interested, Shea Charles is playing for Wednesday right now against Leeds on ITV (as is Yan Valery). Weds currently 1-0 down but they're looking quite decent overall. Can see how Shea has become an important cog in their machine.
-
Because it may be the case that, although he's unable to play at elite level, he could still continue playing at a much lower level, and would need to be released from his current contract before he can sign another one elsewhere. Pure speculation, of course. But not outside the realms of possibility.
-
No, but if all the medical evidence suggests that he will never return to full fitness then you can surely negotiate a settlement of some kind.
-
Rightly so. Notts is short for Nottinghamshire - the county, not the city. Would be akin to someone calling us Southants.
-
In a championship team that dominates the ball and has generally better quality all over the pitch than the opposition where he doesn't have to do any defending, sure he'll look half decent. Putting him on against a PL team and expecting him to shore up the midfield and protect a lead, however, and he's completely out of his depth. He's so lightweight it's untrue. Doesn't tackle, gets beaten far too easily and generally just watches the game pass him by. He's not, and never will be a PL quality player.
-
He's literally just jogged about doing fuck all. Total waste of a shirt. And to think RM claimed he was only ever happy when he was on the pitch. Dear oh dear.
-
Yep. Good goal though.
-
No contact whatsoever. This ref is a cunt.
-
He's been fucking dreadful since he came on.
-
Meh. Been coming I suppose. Annoying that it came about by fluke after KWP did well to block the initial effort though
-
Fucking ref still giving us nothing. Don't think I've seen refereeing this biased since Escape to Victory.
-
There you go - Smallbone on for Dibling. Oh sorry, I misread your post. I thought you said insipid.
-
The board were just asleep at the wheel. And it seems now that Dragan has finally wised up to just how remiss and negligent they were.
-
Yep. Anywhere other than straight at Onana.
