No doubt Honest Bob Jenrick will already be brushing up his knowledge of bins and drafting his defection letter in readiness.

Because despite the fact that he's now been released without charge, the victim was a high-profile member of a divisive political party, and there exists a large subsection of society in this country who will automatically assume he must be a radicalised immigrant, and use that false assumption to have a rant about Islam / immigration in general. There have been numerous examples of that on this very forum over the years.

Yep. Arm clearly in an unnatural position. No VAR check. The inconsistency of its use is infuriating.

I honestly don't know how anyone could have believed he would be any different once elected. His record as an MEP was even worse. For years and years he bleated on about how British fishermen were being let down by the EU. Yet when he got himself onto the Fisheries Committee, where he could have actually had some influence to try and improve things for the very people he was pretending to give a shit about, he only bothered to turn up to one out of something like 48 meetings. He's nothing but a fraud and a grifter. It's been obvious from the moment he caught the attention of the public with his attention-seeking "Who are you?" monologue in Brussels. He's a shameless charlatan with the moral integrity of a whole nest of vipers. Quite how anyone could be so fucking stupid as to be taken in by such a blatant self-serving bullshitter is beyond my comprehension.

This is something that's really pissing me off with this WC. Case just proved further with the VAR check for Mbabbe's goal. There's a clear reluctance from the TV directors to show any replays at all of VAR checks or other potentially controversial incidents. Can't have Joe Public seeing the evidence for any suspicious decisions now can we.

Didn't look unintentional to me. Knew exactly what he was doing.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ce8m526mjmeo "A golden boot race for the ages... battle that feels genuinely generational... sharpened by numbers and defined by rarity". Nothing whatsoever to do with the expanded format and the number of shit teams with shocking defensive records that qualified then huh?

The Reform London mayoral candidate Layla Cunningham is tying herself up in knots and being torn to pieces by KGM on the Channel 4 news. I'm almost embarrassed for her.

He's definitely not a donkey. I watched him a lot at youth level cos he was in the same Everton U21 side as my nephew and they are still good friends. He's got great pace and acceleration, good close control and a good eye for a forward pass. He's played mostly on the left in his recent loans in the Championship but he's versatile and pops up with goals wherever he plays along the front 3. He wouldn't be a direct Stewart replacement because he's not that profile of player. We'd probably be looking to bring him in as backup/competition for both Leo and Fellows cos he can play on either side. Would be a decent signing IMO. 11 goals and 8 assists for PNE last season is pretty impressive.

Yep. If Spors thinks he cdajfu then I guess we'll joist have to truss in the process.

Still not as bad as the Americans that pronounce Iran as "Eye-ran".

They've got a pretty fair grievance in fairness. If VAR is going to intervene and disallow that Zico goal for a very minor foul in the build up, then they have to at least review Argentina's 3rd goal as well for consistency. The argument against that is that if they had deemed it a foul on Salah and disallowed the goal, then the ref has to award a penalty to them and it wasn't enough of a foul to justify that. But we've seen VAR give penalties for less in this tournament - like the one they gave Mexico against us.

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Callum Slattery from Motherwell... https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-callum-slattery-8767734

Well I was expecting this game to be the battle of the Iberian Peninsula, but it's been drab so far. Both teams happy to play for penalties it seems.

It's mental isn't it. We all know he's lying. He knows that everyone knows he's lying, and he also knows there's absolutely fuck all anyone can do about it.

Women's team losses over three years in an attempt to become an established WSL side - £6m. Men's team losses under PSR over the same period, in an attempt to become an established PL side - £105m. It's interesting reading the bit in the article about us being frustrated that not enough is being done by the WSL to make sure there's enough incentive to get promoted while remaining sustainable. Sounds as if it's basically become a closed shop now, where only teams that can afford to continue making losses year on year can really compete. Much like the PL but on a smaller scale. It's a real shame for those who will lose their contracts, but I can see the logic of this decision. A club like ours can't just keep chucking money away every year in a vain attempt to break into the 'big' time that wouldn't even be financially worthwhile anyway, given that the limited uplift in revenue promotion would generate would be largely negated by the increase in expenditure. Probably better off playing at Eastleigh though. I've been to a couple of games with my daughter in the past and it's senseless playing in a stadium that's only 10% full.

First time we've ever beaten a host nation, apparently.

I'm not a fan of Wonderwall (or Oasis in general), but if it means we never have to put up with Sweet fucking Caroline ever again then I'm okay with that.

PA playing It's Coming Home. Don't think the DJ is going to be popular with the home fans!

Gonna be at least another two added on I reckon.
