Oh sorry, I thought this was the Lounge not the Muppet Show. I just don't find drought a particularly funny subject, given the challenges it has created this year and will continue to create if conditions don't improve. I doubt you'll be posting laughing emojis about it either when further non-essential use bans are implemented (which they will be) and food prices rise markedly because of crop shortages.
-
Ah, so you simply don't understand the definition of drought then. Gotcha.
-
What exactly is it you find funny about this? As a resident of Yorkshire, you should be aware of the shortages and the hosepipe ban in place. Yorkshire Water are in the process of applying for numerous emergency drought permits because their reservoir stocks are severely depleted, and with no significant rain forecast this isn't going to magically resolve itself anytime soon.

It's not the early onset of autumn as such, it's just the shortage of rain across the country has had a huge impact. I liaise with the NFU at lot at work and the message from them has been clear: the optimum harvest time has come much earlier for many crops this year due to the exceptionally dry spring we had, and if left any later a lot of them would have started to decay. The medium range forecast for the next couple of weeks looks very dry as well (it's all linked to the position of the Jetstream), so the drought conditions are likely to extend well into autumn/winter this year. And if we get less than the long term average rainfall between now and next April, the aquifers and reservoirs won't recharge sufficiently and we'll have restrictions well into next summer as well. https://charts.ecmwf.int/products/medium-mslp-rain?base_time=202508171200&interval=6&projection=opencharts_europe&valid_time=202508171800

Was the sky grey as well? If that was the case while you went for your walk then it seems we might have skipped autumn already, because that sounds like a winter's day.
-
OK it might be because I've had a few drinks, and I fully expect this to come back and bite me at some point, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Jay Rob is going to go on to be a better player than Dibling.
-
You must have been watching a completely different game from me today then, cos I saw no evidence us launching long balls to Armstrong at all.
-
No idea what you've been watching but I haven't seen the slightest indication that this is how Still wants us to play.
-
That must include the OG today, and I'm not going to criticise him for that. He was doing the right thing covering where a shot might have come from had it reached the attacker. Nothing he could do about the bounce off THB's chest.
-
Nope. Still gonna make that sub regardless.
-
Well it's currently 1-1, so you're right - we're not winning this.
-
Quarshie shows a good moment of composure and then immediately passes the ball straight out of play.
-
Who is the co-commentator? Seems to think putting your arm on an opponent's shoulder and pulling them over isn't a foul.
-
Stupid from Wellington.
-
WTF was THB doing?
-
That at least two that he hasn't given us so far.
-
JAY ROB!
-
Fucksake Madley. Giving them everything and us absolutely nothing.
-
Our players really need to stop getting in each other's way in attacking positions. Seems to be happening far too much in every game so far.
-
Yeah that was appalling from Quarshie. Total lack of awareness and painfully slow reactions. I've seen better defending in my local park on a Sunday morning.
-
Dibling on the bench. Interesting.

Maybe someone at the club connected their VPN to a German server after the recent online safety bill came in to find some *ahem* specialist material, and just forgot to turn it off.

EV chargers that take a £40 pre-authorisation off your payment card that then shows as a pending transaction on your account for nearly a week afterwards. Why? Petrol stations don't do this when you pay at the pump so why do EV chargers need to do it? I'm away from home this week and have been using the charger at the holiday park every day, and I've currently got about £150 'pending' on my current account as a result.

Fair enough if that's your view of it. But at least the long ball didn't just come straight back at us, which it would have if we were relying on Armstrong in that position. I do agree that on current evidence we would be better off with Stewart playing that role, but I'm not gonna write Downs off just yet.
