I'm blaming you for that goal.
-
They a1re pressing us back into our own half and playing a lot of balls in to the box. Stopping us from pressing high ourselves.
-
Shall we just stick with this thread and sack the other ones off?
-
Stoke are giving us a real game here. Not helped by the lino on their left missing a couple of obvious offsides so far.
-
Like we did with Clyne in the Burnley game?
-
Was it a straight red? If so then he definitely will. If it was a second yellow and they have a midweek game then no he won't.
-
Is there a mod around that could merge these threads? We don't need three!
-
What a farking superb FK from Lambert! 1-0!
-
Seeing as Glasgow Saint doesnt appear to be around to start one today...

You have to laugh. They were clearly pinning all their survival hopes on him finding some form after returning from injury, and almost immediately he gets himself suspended for three games. If it was anybody else they would have just accepted the FA ruling and moved on. He thought he was being cute and clever, deliberately swinging his arm at Flores but trying to make it look like it was unintentional, but as people have already noted it is the facial expression that gives it away. As for Flores' play-acting though - what a prize c*nt.

And just lost in the last minute of ET to a team near the bottom of L1.

It's not even about what's culturally acceptable and what's not. What I meant by culture is the different ways in which people consume alcohol and heroin, and the different ways they affect the mind and body. Even if heroin was legal and had no stigma attached to it, you wouldn't ever pop down the pub after work for a quick social hit of smack with your mates before dinner. Anyway, I'm not personally saying that I think he deserves less sympathy than if he had died of other means. My initial response to Adriansfc was really just to highlight why many will see it that way.

Yes, I quite agree. But I wasn't referring to alcoholics in my post. But the point I was trying to make was that the vast majority of people are able to enjoy alcohol without ever developing an addiction to it. The culture of alcohol allows for that. Heroin culture does not.

Given his very successful film career, I think it's fair to say that he could afford his habit and therefore didn't need to go out in the street and mug old ladies to score his next hit.
-
It's a tricky one this. I'm only too aware that addiction of any kind is classed as a mental illness. I've known people myself who have struggled with various debilitating addictions (and I'm not just talking about smoking fags) and I've seen what it can do to previously healthy, functioning members of society. But heroin? It's not like alcohol where you can restrict yourself to the occasional pint or two with your mates down the pub, and the dangers of its addictiveness are very well known. Once someone starts dabbling with that it's only ever going to end badly, therefore it is a little harder to feel sympathy for someone who willingly puts themselves in that situation.

Yeah there's a bit of needle between us and them going back to the season we were both promoted from the Championship. The arrogance of the West Ham fans, who believed they had some sort of divine right to automatic promotion ahead of lowly little Southampton, was just staggering. Add in the fact that both games between the two teams that season were bad-tempered affairs, and that their manager is one of the most generally dislikeable men in football today, and it's fair to say you won't find many on here who have any sympathy for them.

What you did as a teenager in southampton in the 90's

Saw this the other day. I was disappointed (but not surprised) to discover that terrorising the oddball guy who used to sell the Echo from a mobile kiosk in the precinct and getting stoned and going to Cole & Sons funfair on the common every bank holiday weren't on the list. -
Burnley will come up instead
-
Would be harsh to drop Davis though. He has been playing excellently lately. Not the most skillful player I admit, but he never stops chasing down the ball in the opponents half and that is a key part of our system.
-
Villa seem to make a habit of that.
-
Its probably because the home keeper's kit is yellow.
-
No idea. I didn't even realise they actually had an away kit.
-
On this form I would put him in ahead of the likes of Milner any day. With Walcott injured as well, he must be in with a shout. I just hope he doesn't get the nod ahead of Lallana.
-
He was impressive against us the other week. Reckon he will make Roy's WC squad if he carries on in this form.

Stoke's first goal was pure fluke but the second was an absolute peach. Just watching Newcastle get taken apart by Sunderland. They will be much weaker without Cabaye and I firmly believe we can overtake them in the league. Not sure how Altidore managed to squander that chance.
