Wow! Amazing start. I loved the little exchange of passes between Smallbone and Brooks on the right in the build up to that. Beautiful, crisp passing. And for Smallbone to then get in the box and get on the end of the cross was outstanding.

This is it. He showed a glimpse of finding a bit of form during our decent run, and I dared to believe he might finally 'come good'. But the apathy he showed last night is just unforgivable. Edit: Thinking about it, maybe he was trying to prove a point to RM that he's not a winger, but there are better ways to do that. And quite why Russ decided to bring him on to play on the wing when we had Edozie and Sulemana on the bench, I will never understand.

I think he looks worse when playing alongside Stephens instead of Bednarek. It's a weird one with Stephens. I can't point to anything in particular that he does wrong, but our defence just looks so much better when he isn't in it.

Very unimpressed with Brooks just now. He lazily assumed the ball would come to him so started running forward and waited for it to come, but the Blackburn player just nipped in and took it. He then jogs back as they are attacking from that and lets his man run completely free into the box. I know we didn't sign him for his defensive capabilities, but that was very poor.
