Dear Tonda... Don't ever, ever, ever pick Archer to play for us ever again.
-
I really hate it when Stephens does that blind hook back thing that just ends up giving the ball away every single time.
-
What's going on with the audio? I don't want to listen to someone talk about fucking cricket - I want to know what the changes are.
-
I posted earlier in the now split off thread about Alan Ball telling the story of going out on the beers the night before the 66 final. Can only assume Jander did the same last night.
-
If only someone could have predicted that starting Archer tonight was a mistake. Oh, literally every one of us did as soon as we saw the starting lineup. Seems the only person on this planet who couldn't see it was the one guy who actually picks the team. And having seen a total disaster unfold in the pitch, he hasn't changed a single fucking thing. Gross negligence/incompetence from Tonda.
-
Another absolute howler from Jander. If he comes out for the second half then Tonda needs to be given his marching orders tonight.
-
We're getting completely overrun. This is fucking abysmal. What on Earth is Tonda seeing to make him keep faith with this setup and not change anything?
-
How did we not get a corner for that?
-
It's the manager's fault that he's still on the pitch.
-
No movement on the bench. Is Tonda really that blind/stupid?
-
GET JANDER OFF NOW!!!!!!!!
-
Oh fuck me. Get Jander off NOW!
-
Peretz ok to continue. Phew.
-
Imagine how many more wins we might have if we'd had a competent, experienced manager all season.
-
His total lack of presence up front means we've got no out ball and are forced into panicked back passes.
-
Archer down injured. Is it bad of me to hope he's too badly hurt to continue and needs to be subbed?
-
The decision to play Archer is looking like a terrible misjudgement now. We've got no presence up front so have no outlet ball so Leicester are pegging us back far too much and then the panic sets in.
-
Stupid giveaway from Jander to start that move.
-
Leicester are like the Leeds of the Midlands. They have beef with all the nearby clubs.
-
Yes but the entire system falls down without a big, physical CF.
-
Can only assume that Archer has been given the nod because he has more pace than Stewart or Larin, and the Leicester defence aren't exactly the most mobile. Just hope it pays off, for Tonda's sake. Having found a system that works recently, he's taking a big gamble by scrapping it in this way.

Indeed. It's treated as an elite sport these days, so the fitness levels required to be competitive are way beyond what was needed in days gone by, and the recovery time needed after the extra exertion of a match negates the possibility of playing on consecutive days. I remember listening to an after dinner speech from Alan Ball about 20 years ago, and he recounted how he and the boys were out on the piss in Camden on the eve of the 1966 WC final. Seems ridiculous in this age, but it was just normal to them in that era.

I've given it a go, but it's really not great. None of the cadets are in any way likeable, and the script is just all over the place. The most recent episode tries to address the story of what happened to Sisko after the end of DS9. But despite a welcome cameo from Cirroc Lofton (who played Jake Sisko), the overall writing of the episode - much like the rest of it so far - is terrible.

They set an unwanted club record today - 9 games without scoring. Have to feel sorry for their fans. They've been mismanaged for decades now.
