Except it all seems to be aimed at PM's... bomb in PM's office, at Labour party camp where previous PM was due to speak.
-
Not Muslim extremism apparently. We all look like tits now.

Just looking at the old FM stats. Looks a decent buy, meant to be extremely fast which is what you want for an attacking midfielder.
-
Definitely. Money poisons everything really. No-one is going to take real proper decisive action until it hurts their bottom line and by that point it will be too late. And that sadly is the problem with the free market here... it doesn't work with the planet, you can't bail Earth out!

Vodka. I just gag if I attempt to drink it straight.

But are there enough resources on our planet? There certainly aren't if everyone wants to live to the standard we live to, that would take several Earth's. If China and co are getting richer, we are going to get poorer. I do worry about China, because a massive middle class will develop there wanting what we have and that could be catastrophic for the Earth unless we all lower our standard of living a bit to a more sustainable formula. A bit of redistribution could go a long way here(in terms of food supply/energy and so on). The real way to eliminate poverty really would be for a lowering of standard of life of the rich countries to allow the poorer countries some more resource. Are we going to do that though? I doubt it! It isn't really in the interests of any government to raise the standard of living too much in third world countries. It's very sad, but it's true. I just wish sometimes we could co-operate a bit more as a human race.

Sounds almost ecologist! Look up Schumacher's 'Buddhist Economics' for an interesting read. Economics based on sustainability and environmental upkeeping rather than the relentless pursuit of growth. And I have to agree with you. Our economic system is nuts at time. A massive problem for me is the way banks run themselves at the moment. They lend money which isn't necessarily backed up by any assets in the hope that the borrower will one day pay back. The money doesn't really seem to exist and is just created as debt by some guy plugging in a few 0's into a computer. Probably a very simplistic view, but we need to change to a more realistic system based on sustainability, because otherwise debt is just going to increase and increase and the abuse of resources that goes with that could be catastrophic for us all.

Good. He deserves it. Hardest worker in our team.
-
Still feel we need a centre forward and perhaps a central defender.
-
Wow, this could be big. And a lot of the Tory party would do anything to rid themselves of him. They only went along with it all to gain power and he couldn't really even do that.
-
I don't how it is possible he didn't. Whether it can be actually proven though is a different matter.
-
She has questioned well today I must say. On the TV a lot too recently. Isn't it Louise Mensch though?
-
To be honest, on this whole attack business, Murdoch should never have hacked foams in the first place!
-
Perhaps. But you would think he would have at least known about £1m worth of payouts and employees convicted of blackmail. It is pretty bad on his part he hasn't been on top of this stuff.
-
Neil Wallis advised Andy Coulson before the election.
-
Ok, fair enough. But it doesn't change anything.
-
Newspaper circulation has been dropping rapidly regardless of what political party they support.
-
Are you impressed with him when you consider he is head of a massive multi-national company which has wielded untold influence over our politics for decades?
-
Interesting idea. Save his son, ensure the succession. Murdoch looks bloody clueless though.
-
I have to agree. He is coming across incredibly badly and not on top of anything. His son however, seems more on the details. The whole thing is dogey though. I do not believe that neither of them knew anything about anything.
-
Well, I disagree with you for the 4 reasons I stated above.
-
There are several issues which stand out for me as leaving a cloud over him. They could be nothing, but he didn't address them in the correct manner. - The 'compromising of the PM' - He is a police officer first and foremost, he must be able to lead an investigation properly regardless of the PM's relationships. This creates further worry over Cameron's relationship with Coulson. - The free spa stuff from an establishment which Wallis had business connections with when Wallis had been hired on a 1k per day, 2 days a month advisory role(that's a lot of money for a little work) - The seeming revolving door between the met and NI, Met PC's seem to leave the Met and go on to have columns(Heyman etc) and then NI men seem to come in the other direction(Wallis). Something stinks. - The hiring of Wallis like it was when Yates seemed to have been on very good friendly terms with him for 12 years. Why didn't Stephenson investigate further? Those are just 4 I can think of.
-
Stephenson not coming across too well at the moment. This just doesn't look good. This whole event is disastrous for the police.
-
What is most interesting is that Boris Johnson failed to defend David Cameron when pressed on whether Cameron should resign. Because of that, a resignation is still open and it gets you wondering, what don't we know? I dislike Sir Paul Stephenson. He was squirming on the free hospitality stuff though, he is on 250k a year for christ sake. He needs to admit that taking it when Wallis had connections to it was WRONG. He is meant to be our top police officer and so totally clean.
