Looked like it his his hand?

Excellent signing. A couple more of those and Jones coming to his senses realising we need a change in system and who knows…

Assume they won't sell tickets on the day for this? (Looks like my lads game may be off in the morning).

Really struggling to live up to my user name tonight, oh hang on, the traffic on the Avenue leaving Soton was better than usual. Everything else has been said already.

Don’t deserve to be behind.

Much better than I was expecting. Ok, Liverpool may have taken their foot off the gas a bit, but we were excellent in the 2nd half, and could have sneaked something had it not been for two excellent Allison saves. Also thought Bazunu recovered well from his early mistake. If NJ can stop us conceding sloppy goals, we bring in a couple in the window, then maybe we have a chance.

Got to be happy with that.

His form’s not been great, but he should go ahead of Philips surely?

Saints 1-1 (p6-5) Sheffield Wednesday - Match Thread
Mr Brightside replied to Picard's topic in The Saints
Wow that was poor. At least we had some pens excitement at the end to relieve the tedium. Pretty much agree with what’s been said, but for some reason I think there might be a player in Mara, hard to justify on tonight’s showing I know, but just gives me that impression. At the very least I don’t think he’s had enough game time to write him off…yet. -
Considering how low our confidence is and with Boscombe punching above their weight (and at home) I really can’t understand the negativity. Was always going to be a tight and scrappy game and after scoring so early we were always going to be under pressure for long spells. Thought we dealt with it really well and were reasonably comfortable. Don’t know what people are expecting, us to magically become some free flowing Man City? Papering over the cracks, maybe, but credit where it’s due. It’s going to be a really hard season, with or without Ralph so this can only be a positive result and a more resilient performance than we’ve put in for a while. Also have to say, I’ve not been Che’s biggest fan recently, but what a performance tonight.

Better that than what you’re smoking.

I’m a little disappointed I can’t go to the game this afternoon, but kind of get that the FA don’t want the headlines if some idiots decide to ruin the minutes silence, which unfortunately, they probably would. Though expect only delaying it for the next game so seems a little pointless. More annoyed that they called off grassroots footy too. We got an email from our league early yesterday requesting, as expected, we have a minutes silence before the game. So was looking forward to the opportunity for me and my team to pay our respects before the game. Just seems odd to stop the kids playing.

Shame, liked Redders but probably the right time for something new. Although it’s obvious he never hit the heights we thought he would, I was always happy to see his name on the teamsheet. Seemed like a nice guy, happy to chat and have a photo with my boys and served the club well. Wish him all the best.

We’re the better team, pretty much controlled that first half, unfortunately not creating enough though. Wolves poor, especially for the home team, and lucky to be ahead with a scuffed finish, can understand why it caught Bazunu out. Though we do risk goals like that playing with the full backs so high. As others have said, get Moi and Diallo off and hopefully we’ll create a bit more.

This.

My favourite player has left - a sad day 😢

Hopefully they are no longer interested in Broja now.

Could keep Aron’s RB when Tino’s fit and push Tino further forward. Assuming we’re sticking with 4 at the back he could be the right sided No 10 in a 4222 or the wide right player in a 4231. Think he has the attributes to turn into the pacey wide player we’re after. Same way Bale progressed (though not saying he’ll turn out as good!). All depends on how he returns from the bad injury though. Oh, and if we’re actually interested in Aarons of course!
-
Excellent player, would be a great signing. But as has already been said, can only see us signing him if we think KWP is likely to go and even then not sure he’d come to us.
-
Good point.

He can go back to Bompey, we can’t be that desperate.

I’m not dismissing him because of one bad season and agree what he did on the budget wasn’t bad. It’s the style of play I don’t want. I remember a few seasons back being soaked at Turf Moor watching us lose 3 nil after being bullied and not coping with the aerial bombardment (I recall a particularly amusing Vestergard moment where he completed got done by the ball bouncing around in the force 9). Thoroughly miserable but I do remember thinking, at least I don’t have to watch this Burnley dirge every week and I felt more sorry for the Burnley fans. I know we’re terrible at the moment but at least we are trying (failing) to play the right way. On the rare recent occasion it has worked, like the previous Spurs game, it’s given me arguably my best away game ever. So new manager yes, but I think we can do better than dinosaur Dyche.
