It definitely is but the problem is that Maynard has set his heart on a move to the Premier League. Joining Wigan would be an interesting way of accomplishing that though with them looking in serious danger of relegation.

I see your point but unfortunately I think Falque is the winger that has been signed and I can't see us buying another when Chaplow, Holmes, Guly and De Ridder can all play there.

Really think we need to be looking at Keith Andrews from Blackburn. Despite going back to Blackburn he is Ipswich's top scorer with 9 goals from midfield as he makes those late runs into the box and exactly what we seem to be lacking in the centre with three more defensive players in Morgan, Cork and Hammond. He's out of favour there and looks set to be shipped out and I should think we'd have a good chance if we showed interest.

I know we have Chaplow to come back but last night really showed that we need an attacking central midfielder that can score goals. Hammond, Cork and Schneiderlin are far too defensive. Keith Andrews is back at Blackburn at the moment but looks set to be shipped out and I think he would be a fantastic signing, even on loan for the rest of the season. Add a new striker, the return of players from injury and possibly CB cover if Hooiveld has a nasty injury and I think we'l be set.

I was sat in the Chapel tonight and the booing at the end was a disgrace...especially from those fans who offered no support during the match. We've still only lost 2 games at home this season which is a decent record in this league. Now the Cardiff game has turned into a must win match if we are serious about automatic promotion.

Alan Pardew told journalists that they had no interest in signing a striker this window... Not saying I disagree with you but don't think we can put it completely to bed just yet.

Seemed to hint that another striker wouldn't be signed if they can't get Hooper although he may be taking a leaf out of Pardew's book regarding Cisse... Asked whether he could sign Hooper he said, "I wouldn't have thought so."

He's been a guest on there lots of times since then. He was on it just before Christmas IIRC.

Interesting to see Alex Pearce on that list as well. I liked him during our loan spell but thought there was room for improvement and it seems he's come on leaps and bounds since then.
