  1. Burley sacked? Hahaha...:-)
  2. My thoughts are with you Big Ron..keep the faith.
  3. Mickey Thomas....or Dr Evil???? ;-) They could do with........ 'TWO...MILLIIIIOOONN.....DDOOOLLLLLAAAAAARRRS' Haha... 'What goes around comes around....' or 'Be Nice to Saints on your way up, because Saints will pass you on your way back down'
  4. Loved this on the Daily Mail story via Martin Samuel.... ---- The real way to take over a club effectively - Google Search 'Markus Liebherr'. There you go Martin - we are now rid of the 'Rupert Lowe Effect' - debt free and rebuilding. Soon the club will progress and return to the Premier League stage - it may take up to 5 years, but guess what, Markus is a billionaire doing things the RIGHT WAY - not buying players on a credit card when you have to panic sell once the 0% deal finishes..... I have P**pey friends...yes really...and they are embarrassed by Al Fahim. All spout no substance is what I'm told. Pompey fans should look at Saints' relegation season from the Prem - congratulations, you're emulating us completely - selling your best players and inflating your squad with dross. Redknapp is no hero - and Storrie cannot wash his hands of the situation at Pompey now, as surely he was aware of what was going on with wages and income. I would like the FA to investigate this 'takeover' - it smells decidedly fishy. - SaintMarkus, New Forest, UK, 02/10/2009 10:08 Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1216994/MARTIN-SAMUEL-Dubais-Del-Boy-Sulaiman-Al-Fahim-quick-fix-Portsmouth.html##ixzz0SmmfD9GW I echo those comments and probably wrote them...haha ;-)
  5. Wouldn't that give us Fishy Fingers though??
  6. From Heroes to ZERO's eh? ;-)
  7. SKY SPORTS BREAKING NEWS: Pompey have announced that next year's shirt sponsor will be Tampax. A spokesman for Tampax said "To sponsor a bunch of ****s going through a bad period is exactly what our company is all about."
  8. Ok, we're sh1te at the moment...but.... --- SKY SPORTS BREAKING NEWS: Pompey have announced that next year's shirt sponsor will be Tampax. A spokesman for Tampax said "To sponsor a bunch of ****s going through a bad period is exactly what our company is all about."
  9. I got a pair of my black school trousers, fashioned a No8, cut it out and passed it to my Mum for sewing on..I was on a Moran phase at the time. Little did I know it was a new pair...haha..at least I looked cool eh? No-one else had theirs numbered.... I did look a bit funny at school though...
  10. Bought loads of those white Patrick Shinpads - remember them with the Kevin Keegan signature along the front? (Stuck on I know, but back then it meant everything!) Not to mention - the Padded Autograph Books...bought a Saints pencil once, lead broke off in my hand (christ only knows how I managed it) - still there to this day, 25+years later. Remember the A4 sized Player Photos (signed) that you could buy for a quid - with matching badges.....they were a status symbol in the Family Centre I tell you.. The last thing I bought in the shop was the commemorative Home Shirt from 2001 - the first Friends Prov one. Had special crest round it with The Dell on it. £15 if I remember rightly...
  11. I'm not against people making their feelings known - let's make that clear. I was at both the marches last season. In fact, simple events like those for me, hold more weight than having several 'associations' running on an ongoing basis. For me, the problem in the previous regime was that 'nobody wanted to listen' - now we have public examples, e.g Cortese taking on board valid points made and promising to address them (on Monday) - what do we want them to do????? I feel that if one problem arises, an individual can at last feel confident that they won't be ignored by the club - why then do we need fan groups to do this? As for Oldknow, can't comment - never met the man, but from reading on here and S4E then there have 'apparently' been issues in the past. Whether that was down to the political chaos that was SFC PLC at that time or him, I'll leave that for someone with the necessary personal experience to judge.
  12. I'm sure he'd answer them, after all he did during their (Pinnacle's) progress didn't he? Seeing as he and MLT seem to still get on (just an assumption from his posts) perhaps it was just that the backers disappeared.... But, regardless of the situation we now find ourselves in, we need an explanation for this... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4461152.Saints_bid_leader_Tony_Lynam_is_pleased_Fialka_has_made_himself_known/
  13. 'Saint Idol' Echo launches a competition for Saints fans to debate events on and off the field - this in turn will provide them with fans' correspondents to refer to. Gets us away from 'associations' where to be fair, they were relevant in their fight to remove a certain parasite(s)..but in our new era, is it the same anymore?
  14. I for one would like Lallana to be given the chance in the 'free role'. Just so he can finally be assessed by all clearly without another 'alternative role' being mentioned as an excuse. Stick him there, let's see how he does. Hope he scores and sets up loads - because, guess what, WE'D WIN!!! There, I said it. Perhaps then we can see an end to the 'protection policy' that seems to be in place for him by some. BTW, his corners ARE catching practice for the keeper. Fook me, by the above statement I actually agree with Nineteen.
  15. Booked up for the Yeovil game - got an email last week saying that we were being upgraded to an Executive Box for no further charge (they didn't have enough to open the Channon Suite). I booked two places, we were in with three other couples. Had two course meal, visit from Franny Benali in the box, waitress service all afternoon, tea and coffee, cheese and biccys at half-time. Oh and a free programme each. All for £50 including a seat on your own private balcony. FANTASTIC VALUE!
  16. Plus I guess that there would have been commission paid for brokering the finance. Makes you think doesn't it? ;-)
  17. No, in your haste to bring up Lallana, I do not spend my time 'slagging off players' in general. I'm actually very selective ;-) (that's an ironic smiley thingie by the way). In case you've overlooked it, this forum is all about voicing your opinion. Yours happens to be different to mine when it concerns ONE PLAYER. I can live with that, why can't you? Pardew likes him, doesn't mean he deserves his starting place though does it? Every manager has his favourites (see my note about Wright and Telfer) - or did you miss the irony in that as well? If you re-read the post (as you seem to take particular interest in mine for some reason) you will see that it was in response to an earlier one concerning Perry's speech at the Forum. I was responding to this, because like many who were there or listened to it, cannot see now with our new regime who for once ARE interested in consulting the fans why we need 'Independent Supporters Associations'. We didn't have them before Lowe, so why do we need them after he's gone? That's my question. That's one war which has been won. BTW, in case you now feel I'm against SISA and the like in general - wrong. I was on both marches last season.
  18. Why bring up Lallana? I've made my feelings known about him being a regular. So you never criticise anyone then? I bet you loved Jermaine Wright...or Paul Telfer...
  19. Just out of interest, do we still need to have the Saints Trust and SISA? I like Perry, he helped out the young lad sorting out the protests last year, but tonight I felt wasn't the night to talk us up as a big club. I could hear someone say to him, 'but we are in League 1', which was right. We have no divine right to be in the Prem - yes, that is where we SHOULD be, but we aren't. At least now, after all the bull we've been through, we have custodians of the club who are planning on doing the RIGHT THING. That is something I will be eternally grateful for, and Messrs Liebherr, Cortese, Oldknow and Pardew should be allowed to get on with it. We've got a second chance we never thought possible. Let's enjoy the ride for once.
  20. Has Teflon gone then? I thought I saw him drive into SMS on Saturday?
  21. He reminds me of both ****erill AND Jimmy Case - best bits of both really. Can't fault any of Pards' signings...at all.
  22. Ain't that the truth. Mind you, I did have a laugh last night at Lescott's defending - christ on a bike - £20M +? - somebody added some extra 000's for a laugh surely? Richard Dunne's a far better player.
  23. Shhhhh... but surely as he's an 'international' we could blag it? Vokes and Lambert up front with Mills/Holmes & Papa providing the ammunition would be awesome.
  24. Maik Taylor I think... Anyway, how's about a swap loan deal? Wolves get Saga, we get Sam Vokes?
  25. Lightweight? He was one of the only ones last season who tackled! TBH at the moment I'd have him in at RM instead of Lallana - he's certainly not more lightweight than him. Given that Lallana is talented, I feel he would be best used as an impact sub for the time being. Papa Waigo did more running at defenders in his 20 minutes than Lallana did all game. TBF to Lallana he obviously isn't comfortable with his position on the right, but when it comes down to it (and looking to his future) if he wants to progress further than Saints, he is going to be asked to play in positions where he may not be comfortable. Lloyd James and Surman both played out of position and gave it their all - even progressing as players as a result. It's all about application - some on here dreaming about Lallana getting given a 'free role' are, well, dreaming. Can't see a free role developing anytime soon in Pards' system I'm afraid.
