  1. Le Tissier is much higher than Matthew giving the impression that random people are voting for Le Tissier not knowing why but just because they like the name?
  2. Are we still on this? Just voted for the second day straight. Gives me a way of passing five minutes at work. Come on Matthew Le Tissier!
  3. Saints are currently in mid table obscurity in the top flight, this is somewhere we have been for years and years before 2005 so effectively all NC has done has return us to where we should be. Personally I think he lucked out in the back to back promotions because anyone in their right mind wouldn't have gone into that championship season without significantly strengthening the squad that only just came runners up in league 1. The bulk of the players that got us into this position were already at the club when he got here and most people would agree that the big money signings have failed to deliver. Are we really going to be that much worse off without him... Or will someone else just come in and keep us where are, where we belong, mid to low table of the top flight. Whatever happens, this is all just part of the roller coaster of following a football club and it makes it exciting just when we thought the season was getting boring Up the saints!
  4. Their away win yesterday will give them confidence but it was only to a very poor relegation favourite. Would love to beat Gus and kick on another good run. 2-1 to the mighty saints!
  5. Like it. Sunderland (A) - 3 points Arsenal (H) - 3 points Fulham (A) - 3 points Stoke (H) - 3 points Hull (A) - 3 points West Ham (A) - 3 points Liverpool (H) - 3 points Palace (A) - 3 points Norwich (H) - 3 points 27 points and 9 clean sheets
  6. This is brilliant. After a plucky point away from home to the mighty Oxford they still fall to within 1 of relegation. Please, please, please get relegated. Once they lose their golden share, justice will have been served! I shall be following the league 2 results as a ritual as of now! (If I wasn't already )
  7. That's a really poor number in a local game for such a big club. Massive.
  8. With all these ''revenue generating'' exercises they are currently going through, you have to believe that they are seriously struggling with cash flow. With half the season left to play they could be in serious trouble again very soon if they don't start selling out. But that's ok, because they're the bestest in the whole wide world so that wont be a problem right... Oh wait!
  9. After todays results we need a new league table trousers!
  10. Love the FA Cup. Even when Saints go out the draw is always interesting to see who gets drawn against who. Who wouldn't get excited by us drawing the skates? Or a non league side away? Or Luton away to Millwall? Magic! I hope we go all out.
  11. Happy New Year!
  12. Is this a forum full of skates?! Seriously! Get a grip, we are SOUTHAMPTON FOOTBALL CLUB, an average top flight side and we just lost to one of the best teams in Europe. Get over yourselves. Up the saints!
  13. Do you think teams play saints thinking it's an easy win then or that it's going to be a hard fought, tight encounter that will be won by the odd goal? If there is only 1 goal in it then a lucky deflection, penalty, screamer etc in the dying minutes take the victory away. I feel like any one saying we are not hard to beat is arguing just for the sake of it.
  14. Yeah true. Hopefully we start taking cups seriously and can take that away from them forever
  15. But I guess you could say that if you're winning a lot in the lower leagues you'll be getting promoted and thus would end up in the top flight anyway?
  16. This makes me happy, hopefully we will be taking this competition seriously! Rickie is a Saints legend already.
  17. You are right and momentum plays a huge part and this probably has a lot to do with how our recent results have gone. Hopefully we get a result tomorrow and start another great run. I don't think even the most pessimistic saint could argue against that if we keep our core team and strengthen a few areas the future looks very rosie!
  18. I agree we definitely to strengthen the bench and squad in general. If we do that though with how we are currently performing (I said performing, it's not results based) then we have some exciting times coming up. Honest question, are you looking forward to the second half of the season and more importantly next year? I am!
  19. If we get that penalty and a draw at Everton, Villa don't score a screamer at the end of the game etc.. etc... it all looks a bit different but the performances were still the same. The direct end result isn't always a true reflection of where a team is in terms of ability.
  20. Do you not think though that this run of form is just one of those things that happen in sport? Sometimes in sport and in life things just don't go well even though you are doing the right things. Or do you think we desperately need to shake things up because this is all wrong?! So many things in football are ifs and buts but this run of defeats isn't really as bad as it seems as we could have got something out of all of them, it just wasn't to be. There are still loads of positives from the performances even though the direct end result is poor.
  21. No mate, the choice is one of the hardest teams to beat in the leagueor not one of the hardest teams to beat in the league...
  22. I can see us starting the new year in style and turning them over. I really want Gaston to start this one as think their is so much to come from him. Saints to emulate last seasons victory and win 3-1
  23. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/all-time-table I found this interesting. So for all the, we're historically better than you skates, you're actually not!
