Can I ask the people who witnessed the Preston/Sheff Wed drubbings to compare them against the QPR/Cov drubbings this season? FWIW, I'm actually happier with the personnel atm than what we had last year... what is it, ten games in to some of our players professional careers? There will be mistakes, there will be gross naiveity but I'd rather see our boysh heart and developing skills than a team full of Idiakez' and Jermaine Wrights chugging around, picking up a ton and not giving a f,uc,k. Of course I don't want to sacrfice our glorious Championship status by just fielding youngsters and getting battered every week, so if change was needed then so be it... however, I don't see that much wrong at the moment apart from a few kids on a learning curve and maybe the addition of a real leader, a real bully of a centre half or defensive midfielder to guide them.

No Young and Agbonlahor again. Or even Huddlestone. Please tell me how Jenas and Downing warrant a place, please...

I'm kinda split on it... I can see why he's done it (siege mentality 'n' all etc) but the cliched line about "doing my job to the best of my ability" made me cringe...

two years ago, I'd have never have thought this thread would exist. two years ago, I'd never have imagined people referring to KD as "god" ! Fair play for KD for turning it around. I'm actually thinking that maybe now that he's busier he's more switched on, he's having to concentrate more maybe... which has obviously improved his performances... and we're now seeing his true value.

He's fron Eastleigh, I was fortunate enough to play with him at ERI 'B' for a season or so a long, long time ago. And he was left footed, like me, argghhhhh! Anyway, apparently he's still got business interests down here in property (I believe flats in Ocean Village) and from what I've been told, would be keen to play for Saints. Apparently Barnsley rejected bids from Everton, Fulham and Reading for him last season...

My apologies sir, the who situation has bloody cvnted me right off. I like Poortvliet, and I was a believer, I honestly was, but I am overcome with fear. I just don't want to log on to the OS next year before the start of the season and read how we are "looking forward to a serious promotion push" from League One.... Still, I do think BD can pull a few strings in the market (like he did at Derby) and make us competitive again. If we'd have started the season well, I'd imagine our confidence would have snowballed but on the flipside, we haven't and now the young 'uns confidence could potentially dip to new lows...
