  1. Same, except it doesn't actually say where I'll be. But that's OK, Saints - I didn't pick a particular area or anything. Oh wait, I did. Tickets in the affected areas should never have been on sale. And to let us know just 24 hours beforehand is all a bit silly. Can't even get through to the ticket office on the phone. Sigh.
  2. This seems a lower-risk version of the model we successfully implemented until ~2018. Yes, it'd be galling to lose young players on the 'cheap' after several years, but: 1. If they're worth buying, that means they've done well; 2. If they've done well, they've improved the overall quality of the squad - meaning the club's more likely to have done well; 3. It shows youngsters at other big clubs that we may be a more appealing pathway; 4. Turning a smaller profit on a player is still turning a profit; 5. When did us directly sourcing players ever stop us losing them if they prove top-drawer? 6. If it doesn't work out, it's far less of a gamble in terms of transfer fees. And pending wages paid, those may be less of a millstone too.
  3. The entire point of asking for proof of vaccination is reduction of common risk. Proof of vaccination isn't a perfect method (and won't stop every case) - but it's a reasonable identifier to the club that you are less of a risk to those around you. Your logic infers that unless Saints know what you get up to at every moment of every day, knowing your vaccination status is useless. Well... no. Being vaccinated (and the associated percentage decrease of transmission) is exactly why it's now more reasonable to go back to socialising. If you and all those around you are vaccinated (on the train, in the pub, getting food), it means a significantly lower common risk once assembling within the stadium. Again, not a perfect method - but it represents playing the percentages where possible. Might I also remind you that the original proposal was to more widely roll out proof of vaccination to other venues. It's this misguided outrage over supposed lack of freedoms that means that schemes like this are having to scrape through with the bare minimum measures, and no failing of the concept itself.

    2021/22 Kit

Doesn't anybody else think the neck is really OTT? Also so many recent kits (i.e. not just ours) have terrible sponsor placement. On this, it runs bizarrely close to the Hummel logo. Drop it down a few inches and it'd look miles better.
  5. Yup, 5pm here. Good job I can flex my hours...
  6. Frustrating that Fulham scored. Ruined potential 'THREE-OH WALCOTT' headlines.
  7. From what I've seen, the former. Personal gate and arrival time details should be defined when the tickets are released.
  8. Looks like they've completely cocked up the ticket sales this morning. Leeds match was showing as available to buy when I logged in at 09.25, but it wouldn't allow you to process the order. Since 09.30, the site's been intermittently flicking between 'Service unavailable' messages and successfully showing your account... But without the option for the tickets. Ahhh, it's good to be back...
  9. Team averaging 0.8 points per game in 'not going on a 4-match winning spree' shocker. Had somebody insisting to me on Saturday that Fulham had a good chance of winning the lot - and utterly convinced we'd not see another point. The bookies lengthening us to between 150/1 and 250/1 might have been a clue. Unacceptable second half of the season, but it's done now. Time to pick through this sorry mess of a squad; hopefully we can fashion something more coherent for 21-22.
  10. 14 goals in 14 for Iheanacho.
  11. If they were ever upheld. Seems a timely reminder that it's all simply a way to market the club.
  12. So did the Commercial team essentially fail to find a replacement, or have our much-touted 'club values' changed in the past 12 months?
  13. Think the reason it's that simple is due to the credit already having been applied to everyone's accounts. Even before taking any action, if you log in you'll see it's there. It's only if you wish to take up the refund that there's more to do - because they'll be manually removing the credit and processing it back as a lump-sum refund.
  14. Specious reasoning.
  15. Half of this quote was pieced together from a series of tweets by Halsey in 2016. Now seemingly deleted, but a little bit of sleuthing turns up the URLs of at least a couple of them. 🕵️ https://twitter.com/RefereeHalsey/status/771628305954975744 https://twitter.com/RefereeHalsey/status/771996466336456704 Interestingly the first of those tweets was still active as of yesterday - saw it with my own eyes. At that time, both could be accessed via the Wayback Machine (as I was going to post roughly this response on yesterday's conspiracy thread, where that image was posted - and somebody claimed it was a fake attribution). That may tie into the 'gagging' narrative. Or perhaps somebody has just had 'a word' since this has resurfaced. The second half of the quote was indeed falsified though, as reported in this article.
  16. 100% this. I just don't feel fully engaged watching it. I don't want to miss any of our games, but feel increasingly disconnected from what I'm seeing. Even with that Leicester match, give me attendance person - with inclement weather swirling round the bowl of the stadium - but actually living through it. Even with the VAR decisions going against us, I'd prefer to be within a throng of thousands of our own, vocally and animatedly protesting. And that's why I can't comprehend choosing to solely watch at home as a fan, given the choice and means.
  17. Correct. He addressed this on The Peter Crouch Podcast. As much as I'd love to say it's evidence of corruption, he's done it quite a few times (in various matches) after giving advantages that lead directly to goals.
  18. Waterlooville, so close enough. My brother dated his daughter, circa 2010. The Styles lived in Denmead at the time. #pointlessITK
  19. Fear for the sanity of anybody that'd genuinely want him gone. He's wrung every last drop out of what he's been given. Goodness only knows where we'd be without him. Apart from anything else I can't see there's anybody available that'd be able to do more with the hellish wage structure we're still having to clear down.

    Cheers, appreciate the response.

Has anybody been able to compare one of the unbranded/Sportsbet.io shirts to the Under Armour/LD Sports version? Looking to buy one or t'other as a present, and whilst I'm sure they'd prefer the up-to-date version, I'm half envisaging it being a Rupert Lowe-era special in terms of the quality.
  22. Had to look up the exact date, but it was 28th October 1995. We hosted Wimbledon, winning 2-0 - with both goals coming from Neil Shipperley. Being a nipper I usually only got to follow the games on Teletext (or via highlights on South Today), and came away thinking that Shipperley must be amazing. Couldn't tell you anything about the game, but distinctly remember the crowd chanting his name as we poured out to the streets. Funny what the brain holds onto.
  23. Called it. 😏 Simply makes far more sense. Regardless of the argument over whether they should've sold season tickets in the first place, I commend them for adjusting the plan. The original was clearly no longer fit for purpose.
  24. Just 3 goals conceded from the start of December to now, covering 7 matches. Yes, we've had spells of being a bit goal-shy throughout that time, but mightily impressive considering we've faced City and Liverpool. Rest of the month doesn't look so initimidating now.
  25. Haven't really been following my refunds, but given the travails experienced by many that are, thought I'd have a quick tally up. I've not received anything back from the club since 3rd November, where I was refunded two payments of 2 tickets on the same day. Assuming that was an intentional lump of 4 refunds, I've had 6 refunds in total from the 8 home games we've played. So Sheffield United (13/12) and Man City (19/12) outstanding. It'd be a clusterfuck for even a well-drilled organisation to manually process all of this, so can't even feign surprise that they're struggling. They'd be significantly better off flipping the workload 'round - refund the remainder of all STs now, and process per-match payments as-and-when people get to attend. Assuming anybody actually does get to before the end of the season. We know people from the club are monitoring this... Make your lives easier... 👀
