He made himself a bit of a figure of ridicule coming out with stuff like that. At the same time, he also predicted that within 25 years the English league and national team would end up being dominated by players from a skills-based background, and you could argue he wasn’t that far from the truth when you see how top level football is generally being played 20 years later. The main problem that we had when he was with us was that he came into a back room team being headed up by Harry Redknapp, the ultimate dinosaur and general all round c*nt. Lowe had just let Jim Smith go, and brought in Woodward and Clifford, and no matter whether their ideas were any good or not, a spiteful, prehistoric wanker like Redknapp was never, ever going to cooperate with them or do anything to try and make it work, so it was doomed to fail from the start.

I reckon it was the other way round. Having been given yet another chance to come good, and after another 20-odd games proving yet again that he wasn't up to it, I think at the end of December Baz was told that he'd had his last opportunity and blown it, and that the club would be seeking a new number 1 in January who they would be expecting to come in as first choice e.g. Peretz. So basically, if you want to play any more this season then you're probably best off looking for a loan/ move. Which is what Tonda alluded to in his press conference when he used the phrase 'looking at options that are best for Gavin and the club' or whatever it was, which always means you're out. Baz would have said he wanted to play, so the club and his agent would have made other clubs aware, and Stoke needed a keeper because Johansson was injured, so hey presto, off he goes, that's the end of Stoke's chances of getting promoted, and he'll be back in June. Hopefully at that point we can sell him for good.

Yeah that was absolute madness, both for him personally and for us as a team. I think he's crap but I do feel for him the way he was thrown to the wolves like that, it was very unfair on him.

Bottom 3 of my lifetime: Third worst: Woods Second worst: Andrews Worst, by a distance: Bazunu Lowly commended: Gunn, Gazzaniga, Nixon Woods, Andrews, Gunn etc were absolutely useless, but they at least looked like goalkeepers who just weren't very good. Baz doesn't even look like a keeper, and never has. So much about the way he moves, his positioning, his body shape etc is wrong. And I say that as someone who played in goal my whole life and got to a reasonable level.

Or, apparently, setting a leadership example in the dressing room which is quite clearly a mess. At best he's not helping sort it, and at worst he's an active part of it. The opposite of what a captain should be doing.

I'd argue that, as captain for most of that time, it was very much his responsibility to stop that from happening, which he utterly failed to do. He was meant to be a leader but has shown no proper leadership at all. He's a perfect symbol of the massive decline in standards in all areas of the club under SR, a massive part of the problem, and needs to go along with Manning, Downes, THB and all the other arrogant, entitled, failures who have been stinking the place out for way too long. Sick of the lot of them.

No no no, he cried in front of the cameras two years ago, that's what really matters and shows just how much the club means to him, and we should all just lay off him because he's such a super dooper guy who bleeds red and white you know, he's feeling it just as much as we do and is just so determined to put it right like he would if he was in a trench in WW1 which is exactly the same as getting paid £40k a week to kick a football around
