I'm not sure that's right. Surely we don't have to pay off the entire mortgage, just get it back on schedule if we're behind. We have nowhere near the level of 'bad' debt that Leeds had.

Interesting Comments from Burnley Fans
Barry the Badger replied to Ian the Red's topic in The Saints
Interestingly, exactly the same thing happened when Leeds got relegated to L1... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-487614/Ipswich-chairman-blasts-weak-FA-Leeds-pitch-invasion.html -
Hope You're proud of yourselves! Crowd Trouble
Barry the Badger replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
It would be pretty unprecedented for a club to get a points deduction for crowd trouble but I guess you never know with Mawhinney and his cronies watching our every move. -

Not justifying anything but I think the ref had blown up, the benches were shaking hands and the linesmen were coming onto the pitch. -

What happened at the end surprised me simply because the atmosphere in the Northam hadn't really been an angry one, passionate yes, but not really agressive. Wierd. -
Burnley ticket sales - 20k so far

I think you've missed one group out there Um. The one which I probably fit into (how dare you ) Can't make every game but will come whenever possible regardless of what league we're in, how we're doing or who we're playing. Perhaps the problem with the attendances is that too many previously from this category have slipped into the 'give me a reason to go' category this season? -
http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11702 "We have to try and instill that bit of calm in our play as well, re-assuring players to go out there and do what they've been doing all season" We're screwed

League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
Barry the Badger replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
But surely if it was the same for everybody across Europe a lot of those issues would be non existant? -

Fair enough, just came across as you belittling fans who, misguided or not, at the end of the day are just trying to help their club. If what you're saying about the donations is true then your anger would definitely be better aimed at those doing the on-pitch/media begging rather than the fans who donate in the hope it will help. -

Do you need a hand down from that pedestal? Well done for being so much better informed than everybody else, but you can't blame people for wanting to do what they can to help the club they love, regardless of the realities of the situation. -
Surman has lost his way here a bit now. Always thought he was at his best as a winger but he's barely played there for 2 seasons. He will go to a good CCC club and do quite well I expect. If he did stay he would be a great assett in League 1 with a manager that could get the best out of him.

I was 20 when we signed Delap, and it depresses the hell out of me to think that he will quite possibly still be our record signing when I hit 30, 40, 50?

It's ok, everything is alright now, Rory still loves us http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/stoke_city/8014887.stm

I agree, can't believe we are not getting a full house myself. He's just bringing me down (even further) now though.

The "we want Mark Fry as chairman" thread
Barry the Badger replied to DrZuess1979 the 2nd's topic in The Saints
It does highlight how bad things have been when a man coming in and showing a bit of common sense, communication skills, and respect for the fans makes us all think he's the messiah. Long may it continue. -
I would like to think the players will still want to finish outside the bottom 3 as much for their own pride as for the -10 we could avoid for next season.

Come on Adrian, change the record mate.

Mawhinney is an idiot. Grinning like he's enjoying it all. W*nker. -

Agree. Let's not drag this on and on. Time for a clean slate, accept the penalty and get on with it, assuming there's still a club next season. -

So now the players are basically playing to prevent us starting on -10 next season, although it's pretty unlikely anyway. Can't believe it's come to this. -
We HAVE to fill the ground for Burnley
Barry the Badger replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
For me a major part of the problem is the posts on here with people saying things like "I will still be a fan in League One" and "What the new owners need to do". What new owners? Some fans are taking it for granted that someone will come in and save us BEFORE we run out of money and so the urgency isn't there... It genuinely might not happen. -
Why didn't Gavyn Davies save us from administration?
Barry the Badger replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
How do you make a small fortune whilst owning a football team? Start with a large fortune. Just ask Leon Crouch. Gavyn Davies did not become wealthy by giving anybody any money I'm afraid. Would be nice though :-) -
Just to add to this discussion... For various reasons I can't make every game but I have been to 10 home games this season, and 2 away. So I guess I might class as a more casual supporter? For me it makes no difference who we are playing, whether we are top of the league or bottom I will just come to whatever game I can make it too. I came to Charlton, but couldn't make Palace due to being away over easter, and I will be at the Burnley game. I suppose my point is that sometimes there is no particular reason for people coming/not coming, so higher or lower attendances on a game by game basis could just be down to circumstance. I also don't particularly buy into the theory that there are 5-10 thousand 'stay-aways' who used to come every game but now don't come at all. I think we just have a lot of 'casual' fans who are still coming just maybe not so often.

I would just like to say that although this situation is completely horrible it is fantastic to feel the fan base united again at last, all pulling in the same direction.

You clearly don't.
