Surely it'd be better if we lose as a win would just confirm us as flat track bullies.
-
Was that the game where we were 4-0 down after about 20 minutes, we had Richard Dryden playing centre back who was truely awful and looked about 3 stone overweight. Think we lost 5-0 in the end.

wish i had that problem. Its our year end this month, i'll certainly be working all the way through christmas and very likely until late new years eve.
-
Personally i'll be spending all afternoon dreaming about what might have been as i watch Sam Vokes, Danny Ings and Lukas Jutwitez turning out for the opposition. It should have been us.
-
You're right about that. He burst onto the scene and then struggled a little bit after that. When we played 4-3-3 Rideout was usually the chosen one. But ironically it was under branfoot that Shearer came on, had a decent season under him that got him his move to Blackburn. Strange to think that one of of England greatest ever strikers would actually progress under one of our worst ever managers.

I was amazed that ITV seemed to think the entire country wanted Liverpool to win. Most people i know cant stand them.

When fans talked of expanding in 2003 after the cup final Lowe was quick to quash this talk by saying each seat would cost £3,000 and he would want to see a couple of years of sell outs and waiting lists before any serious discussion would take place. he was right. Anyone that thinks the club are going to expand and then reduce the price of tickets is nuts. In an ideal world we'd all love to sell 50,000 tickets every week and never pay more than £15 but it aint going to happen.

Wow, he doesn't like him does he!

And that's exactly how the big clubs, UEFA and sky want it. A closed shop with the biggest clubs playing in the champions league which will effectively be the European super league that's been touted about for years. They don't want anyone gate crashing their party. I remember when people on here told us FFP was a good thing for us, when anyone with any sense knew it wasn't.
-
Anyway it was the refs fault Liverpool lost, it wasn't their fault, it never is.
-
I take it it wasn't one of those great European nights at anfield then? Although I'm sure the Gerrard free kick reminded everyone of Istanbul
-
It's started well, by the middle could start to see what you were getting at and by the end it was clear what your objective was. Why not just title the thread 'Wanyama to Arsenal'?
-
Isn't it frustrating that in our 5 games against Man United since returning to the premier league we've lost 3 and in all 3 defeats they've been forunate. 2 late goals in 2012/13 season at home, in the away game we comepletely dominated them and lost 1-2. Then lasts night losing because of mistakes. Its frustraining that over the course of those 5 games we've been the better side yet only got 2 points to show for it.

Arent Tony and Morgan both back?
-
I'm not sure why people are on his case, we've been told for years we need a "pacy wideman" and now we've got one because he isn't brilliant straight away people are on his back. This is the sort of player your pacy widemen are folks, frustrating, inconsistent but every now and again turn it on. Show me a pacy wideman who is consistently good and I'll show you a player out of our price range.

Reports over the weekend he wants to stay at saints and sign a new deal.

Why does this season feel so different to last?
Turkish replied to norwaysaint's topic in The Saints
It feel like the club is United and we've got a manager happy to be here and a leadership structure not a dictatorship at the top. Talk of the top 4 was still pie in the sky and it would still be a great achievement to finish in the top 8, especially given all the upheaval over the summer. We are still a work in progress, we are where we are because eve exceed expectations and some of the top 6 regulars of previous years are in disarray. Over 38 games it'll level out. We still have a great chance of a top 6 finish and a wembley final but even if we don't make it given where people thought we'd finish we still have much to be proud of. -
Southamptons early season form seems a long time ago, they are in a terrible run, their once solid defence is making mistake after mistake and the goals have dried up for them which is not a good combination. Meanwhile Burnley haven't had an easy start to life in the premier league and have to string a run of wins together and I think they can, starting with a win here. Dorkish prediction Burnley 4 southampton 0
-
Gifted them victory with two errors, didn't take our chances or make our domination count and paid for it. So disappointing to more than match two top teams with a weakened side and come away with nothing.
-
I agree, felt we've had a bit of an inferiority complex against Man City and arsenal, if we can get a win tonight it might just give us a lift that we can beat these sides.
-
That's the problem, many mistake will be punished or half chance taken, their defence might be terrible but they're good going forward.
-
Yep, although thought shane long should have at least made the keeper work with his chance. He's been decent though.
-
Man United are there for the taking, their defence is awful, but they won't be as bad this half.
-
Now Smallings off, it gets worse.
