  1. I don't buy this Sunday lunch time excuse. This is the premier league, 3pm Saturday kick offs every week are a thing of the past. Are attendances going to go down if we achieve our stated aims of European football?
  2. Well 3 games in our average is lower than last season despite us doing much better.
  3. Do you think it's a good business model to spend say £18m on expanding a stadium and then reducing prices? Why would this make any sense?
  4. Sundays low crowd seem to suggest so. This one had all the ingredients of the matches we were assured we'd need an expanded stadium for. £35m invested in the summer, a team full of internationals challenging at the top of the table and attractive opposition. Indeed the various radio pundits were raving about how much they were looking forward to the game. This wasn't the view of saints fans though as we only sold 4,000 tickets to casual fans with the same amount of seats remaining empty. This was one of the games we were assured we'd need a bigger stadium for yet we got a crowd only sightly higher than our championship average. People have said it's too expensive on here in the past so perhaps the cost is now starting to see attendances dip and talk of expanding the stadium which we were told was desperately needed a year or so ago was premature.
  5. And to think some on here wanted him thrown out of the club........
  6. You need to look up what the word supporter is. HTH
  7. Here's an idea, how about you back the team and who picks the team whilst you're at the game and berate their performance after it, in the pub, on here of wherever you want away from the ground.
  8. In my house you're know as Scotty off the mongboard :-)
  9. What does your 6 year old say about him? He must have been devastated when Guly came on.
  10. I Was going to post something similar but decided not too. He was an utter c*ck when he was a player here, used to see him in the Rhino a fair bit c2000-2002 and was really full of himself and playing the big i am all the time.
  11. Ironically our first goal came about due in part to an error by Swanseas left back. Not tracking Lallanas run. ALso no one has mentioned Fontes underhit backpass which almost led to a penalty and cost Lovern a booking, if that had been Fox people would have been in meltdown.
  12. it was the same with Guly last season and the second half of the championship season. He'd give the ball away and be lamblasted for it, then one of our golden boys would do the same thing and be given a round of applause for a great effort or good idea. I'd hate to see what our fans would be like these days if we were crap or struggling. Imagine what they'd be like if we were watching some of the crap that was served up in the mid 90s when we were generally awful until around March time.

Agreed and if you did ever you'd know what you were getting. An at best microwave heated burger or pie thats been sweating under lights for hours. Quite why people expect anything more than that is beyond me. I find it astonishing the amount of people who seem to determined to eat as much as possible as soon as they set foot inside a football stadium.
  14. Quite right, we won a difficult game against a good side 2-0 and are doing better than most of us expected at this stage, yet still people get on the backs of the players. Just like the abuse Guly got in the championship when we were top of the league and going for promotion.

There is a subtle difference between Southampton FC and Burger King or McDonalds, can you guess what it might be?

The bitterness on here is hilarious, win 3-0 away at a top 6 side and score 3 good goals and still they cant bring themselves to give the team and manager who are supposedly so terrible a bit of praise.

So if we'd just won 3-0 away at spurs and scored those goals I'm sure you'd say that was just a lucky result too, yes?

I see the terrible manager is being lauded on MOTD for his 'brilliant' tactics in their 3-0 away win at spurs today. Not one goal from a long ball either. Funny that from a team that just hits It long and hopes.
  19. 14 assists from left back says he wasn't and was an effective player for us at that level.
  20. He's always had quite a laid back style. I don't remember too many complaining about it when he turned to the abusing Pompey fans at Fratton Park whilst he was waiting for them to return a ball for him to take a throw in, stood in front of them, eyeballing them as they gave him a torrent of abuse and didn't bat an eyelid, compare that to the frightened rabbit in the headlights look in the eyes Lundekvam had when we lost 4-1 there, for that he will always be a legend in my eyes. He's not a premier league player but his failings have never been a lack of effort or a lack of bottle, just simply a lack of ability.
  21. Not great? Its a f*cking disgrace is what it is. People may not rate him but remind me of the times fans giving their own players abuse has had a positive affect? They are our players out there and Fox has been a good player for this club, show him some respect.
  22. Sadly for Danny Fox his excellent performance in our promotion season is now forgotten and when he is inevitably moved on sooner rather than later he'll be remember as a crap player who wasn't good enough for us. The truth is somewhat different, he was signed in the championship and proved himself a very capable left back at that level, sadly for him he was a victim of his own success and whilst he played a big part in our promotion season clearly isn't good enough or the premier league. Unlike Hammond, Chaplow, Sharp & Harding who were moved on before they had the chance for the so called fans to label then 'crap' he's been thrown in to a divison which he isn't good enough for and whilst the others will be remembered as heroes who played their part in an great journey, Fox and Guly now have the indignity of being the crowd boo boys, despite always giving their best and trying 100%, despite ultimately not being good enough. Quite Frankly Fox and Guly deserve a bit more respect, neither are premier league players but have always given their all and they too played a big part in our march up the league, sadly some of our fans seem to have forgotten this and happy to dish out stick to good pros who have played their part for this club. Quite sad but unsurprising that so many people seem to so obsessed with progressing they forget and criticise those who helped us get there.

    MP's record

Swansea had more shots at goal than us today but we won 2-0. Just saying like.
  24. At least we've got someone to blame if we lose now
