I remember a while back when people were slagging off Fonte and saying Hoolivled was better that I was wrong, Fonte was struggling and Hoolvield was brilliant,our best defender. Central defence is all about partnerships, Lovern and Fonte make a great pair and just like Svenson and Lundekvam you play Lundekvam with an Inferior partner he doesn't look as good either. Fonte is a decent centre half and Lovern is a class act, its interesting Yoshida can't even make the bench this season, as a pair they work together so well. Another one whose been there since moreorless the start and great to see him thriving in the premier league.

He was, although a couple of times I felt he wanted an extra touch and maybe tried to do a bit too much, he's still settling though but is starting to show what a good player he is.

At risk of sounding like a happy clappy m-boarder and realising it is only early days, Lovern to me looks one of the best centre halves in the premier league. Absolute class and a snip. Superb defensive display, was a bit backs to the wall for 20 minutes after the goal but we rode it well and last 15 we kept Liverpool at arms length superbly and closed the game out well. 3 great saves from Boruc and a great display from him, so calm and confident. Wanyama again gave it away cheaply on occasions but look solid and much improved. We've still not really clicked up front but you can see MP is making us tough to beat and score against and in truth apart from Gerard's Free kick and Moses shot in the first half they created little. In many ways the perfect away performance, defended well, some good saves, looked dangerous on the break and ultimately took our chance and saw the game out in style. A very happy saints fan tonight.

Remember the excuse peddled out for our form this time last year? Apparently we were adapting to the premier league. So this season we don't have that excuse and our form in MPs last 10 games isn't good. Whilst people say there are no easy games in the premier league you'd expect at least 4 points from a poor Sunderland and a weakened west ham. We need to start winning soon as cortese isn't going to be happy with turning games we should win into draws and draws into defeats.

I'd go with Barcelona too for the reasons you mention and because they are not that hot at the back and our pressing game would upset Puyol. Bayern Munich, because they lost to Chelsea at home and we didn't lose to them last season, plus Lampard is sh*t. I'd probably go with Real Madrid because Man United would have knocked them out last season if Nani hadn't been sent off and our midfield is better than theirs (Man U) so we'd probably smash them home and away.

Dont you find it embarassing then? We have won once in 10 games, scored 2 goals this season and people are talking about winning the title. How about everyone shuts up and does our talking on the pitch, then when we actually look like we are good enough talk about it then.
