The reality is that as a potentially upper midtable club next season who appear to be showing ambition there are a lot fewer options than from a smaller premier league club or Championship one. oves to clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and City will always happen if those clubs want them but usually it's only the very best that go there. It's making us be more attractive than clubs just below that that are the key. So the likes of Schniderlin and co dont see Everton & Newcastle as a step up career wise. If that is the case and it could well be then there are only really 4-5 clubs in the country who would be able to sign them, who are also looking all across the world at other players too.

Mauricio Pochettino: The Argentine at Southampton with big plans

Well i know for a FACT that MP and his assistant were in Spain this week, came back from a Barcelona on tuesday. Maybe sorting out tranfers, maybe not..... -
Policy of not revealing injuries and players fitness
Turkish replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
I agree, but some posters on here hailed it a masterstroke as it would keep our team selection secret and give us an advantage as the opposition wont know our team. -
seems to be a thing of the past as MP has come out and said Shaw is fit. @solentsport: #saintsfc boss Mauricio Pochettino reveals that Luke Shaw has trained all week and is fit to face Spurs tomorrow What do people think of this? Some posters will be surely furious at this as they were indignant that Adkins not revealing injuries was a brilliant tactical move as it would mean clubs would not be sure what our line up was going to be and therefore not be able to prepare for us. However it seems the guy brought in to take us to the next level doesn't subscribe to this view. So, revealing injuries or not, is it now a good or bad thing?

I agree, unless you experienced football pre 1992 I don't think you can truly appreciate that the most important people at football clubs were ones who never kicked a ball, after the dark days of Lowe I'm glad to see that we are retiring to honour back office staff as they should be. I recall a recurring dream when I was a kid, it was John Motsons commentry over the sound of a cheering crowd and Motty hardly able to contain his excitement as he exclaimed 'that's a great invoice signed off by Woodford!'maybe kids today can experience similar dreams as we have a like minded guy back in charge. -

I agree. I remember in 1984 when we finished second and had fantastic young team packed full of internationals scoring goals for fun. When my dad took me to the club shop one bright Spring morning that year with th intention of buying a Patrick cagoule and perhaps a couple of posters for my bedroom of my favourite players, Peter Shilton, Mark Dennis, Steve Moran, Danny Wallace etc, I told him I wasn't interested. The poster I wanted on my wall was of Then chairman Alan Woodford as without him none of this would be possible. That season my dreams of becoming proffesional footballer died out, I wanted to be a chairman. In the playground at school whilst the other kids were pretending to be Saints, Man united and Liverpool players, playing football, I'd be sat on the benches, watching the game in my trench coat, pretending to be,y hero counting my pennies wondering if Andy Charlton from the U9s playing with his age group on the pitch next to us would drop down an age group if I offered to give him 20p a week. -

Th good news for all of you people who like to sit on your phones during matches is that the leading wireless networking vendors in the world are currently developing a technology which has been named 'connect the crowd', another facet of the BYOD which is all the rage everywhere at the moment. The theory behind it is that it is specialist for large crowds like at the Soccerball, NFL, rugby, cricket, baseball, concerts etc. and will enable clubs to offer scalable WIFI Inside their stadiums, meeting the short but high demand periods of before and after matches and half time, obviously ranging from practically zero use most of the time rising dramatically to 10s of thousands for short bursts on match days. At the moment most vendors architecture, scalability and band steering isn't up to coping with the bursty demands that will be placed on it but its coming, Chelsea trialed Ciscos latest offerimg earlier this season. It's a large investment for a club for some thing whcih is only going to be used for, tops 2 hours a home game though when its fully developed Clubs will also be able to have their matchday programme available on People's own devices as well as a club splash page with people like Betfair advertising on them and people being able to place bets on their phone, on a game, whilst at the game. So if gimps d*cking about on thier phones during games irks you now, it's only going to get worse I'm afraid.

Optimistic? Optaf*ckingmistic?! This squad, with no new signings is good to finish 6th, 10th should be the minimum! Come on NIck G, shoot for the moon! reach for the stars! Man for man no players outside of the top 8 would get into our team and ours would get into all of theirs!
-
10th. Absolutely nail on. There is no way this wont happen.
-
Lambert is, of course, renowned for his dribbling skills.
-
Strangely I dreamt last night we signed him for £8m and people were complaining he wasn't worth the money, too old and wouldn't suit our style if play!
-
Exactly this. Carroll is in form, lambert isn't. Hodgson has done what has been demanded of him by his forum yet still they complain.
-
It's your well earned nickname fella, don't try and palm it off on me. Do you still think Swansea adding 11,000 seats to their 20,532 capacity stadium will give them a bigger capacity than St Mary's by the way?
-
More nitpicking.
-
More irony. Stop being such a nitpicking pri*k. So the fella spelt Davis name wrong, who gives a f*ck?
-
You weren't a milkman in Harefield during the 70s were you?
-
Ironic that the person holding the record for being wrong the most, so much so that he has be dubbed 'Mr Wrong' on this forum should be correcting others.

Is there really any need for that sort of comment on a decent thread? It's a shame some people have to be so childish. Some good posts on here, especially enjoyed 70s Mikes.
