I'm not sure whats so funny about that. It's only 10 Hot dogs between him and his boy all eaten within the space of two hours. It's perfectly normal to stuff your face with that much food in that much time!

No. Still makes no sense.

I believe Spurs have a waiting list of around 15,000 for season tickets as well as a tired membership scheme where you pay xxx amount simply for the right to be able buy tickets for gold, silver or bronze games. At least I think that's how it works. Either way their waiting list and membership scheme prove they need a bigger stadium, the fact we don't have one proves we don't.
-
Because demands outstripped supply at Highbury. You know, putting it simply they filled their ground week in week out for years and they had compelling evidence they could fill a bigger stadium without spending millions and millions and millions and then reducing prices to a third of what they are now to sell them. Not difficult is it.

Who is asking you to do that?

i see the echo are now onto this and "the victim" has commented.... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/crime/10203991.Saints_fan__punched_me_in_the_face__claims_woman/ gemnicholson says... 7:48pm Mon 4 Feb 13 I am absolutely shocked and appauled that anyone would even start to think that any of these accusations i have made could even be slighly made up. The matter of the fact is, none of you were there or witnessed this, I was there and I was the one who had the effects of this, as well as my daughter. This has got totally out of hand now, all I did was make a comment on twitter regarding being hit, which was a fact as I was hit. The next day I woke up to over 50 tweets from southampton and other fans apologising on behalf of Saints. Your right, at first I didnt report this, because I ran away and got my child safely in my car and then home and to bed, reporting this didnt cross my mind as I said on one status ' theyll be half way back to southampton by now theres no point'. I did not think that this would cause such publicisty, and definately did not think I would come across a picture of the person to blame - which i must add - I DID NOT TAKE. This picture was found on a fellow saints FC twitter page, and was a picture of the fans BEFORE the game. This matter is in the hands of the police now and CCTV has been reviewed, but there is no cameras on the actual bridge and therefore I 99% doubt anyone could even see the incedent on any of the cameras, especially as it happened whilst I was squished up against many other larger and taller people. Comment all you want, but at the end of the day all I care about is the fact myself and my daughter are ok now and that she is not put off returning to the stadium she has been attending with me since the age of one. so firstly the echo are now running stories based on unfounded accusations made on twitter and secondly she now claims no one could have seen her be punched as she was "squished up against many larger and taller people". So none of the people she was squished up against saw it or did anything and in the guy that was meant to have punched her managed to get to her despite her being squished in by all these people. How odd.

and what was his reply?

You'd think it wouldn't be so difficult to understand wouldn't you.

I'm not really quite sure what you're banging on about now. Are we charging £12 or £25? Are we talking hypothetical or did you not read my post about how i think Saints and any sensible business would plan before spending tens of millions of pounds to make sure that wasn't money down the drain? I think you need to work out what you are on about and then come back with a comprehensible point, or if all else fails mention Germany again.
-
It would be, when the FC Saints of Southampton roars then i'll give you credit, until then stick to ringing up the echo and begging them to let you comment everytime they want a voice of the fans on a subject.
-
As much as you might not want to believe it Francis, the whole culture of football in England isn't going to change so Saints can fill a staidum that is too big for us. As for your enterpreurer nonsense, you've also got the opportunity to complete f*ck a club up by building a stadium far, far bigger than they ever want or need. Just ask Darlington fans.
-
there is your answer steve, set up SF Saints of Southampton. Que a power struggle between you, Richard Chorley, Perry McMillan and Keith Legg.
-
Not at all Frankie boy. I would suggest like most normal people would that they way to see if you can fill a bigger stadium is to see if demand regularly outstrips supply over a reasonable amount of time, by how much and then consider expanding the stadium to cope with that demand. What i would suggest would be idotic, would be to spend the tens of millions of pounds expanding the stadium, then reduce the ticket prices to create a demand. We dont need a 48k or 58k stadium now and probably never will, we aren't even regularly filing the one we have at the moment. i'm sure MLG will be soon to bore us to death as to how we have more fans than Everton, Chelseas crowds in the 80s and all his other nonsense he likes to spout and you will just continue to bang on about Germany to fill a stadium the size of which we dont we dont need. Yes we could fill 58k possibly if tickets were free every game and everyone between the ages of 4 and 84 left the stadium with a free house and car and cheque for 50k but that isn't every going to happen and neither is us building a 58k stadium and charging everyone a tenner to get in.
-
BEcause it's never going to happen. If Cortese was going to reduce the prices to sell ticket, why did hen't reduce the prices to sell the 6,000 we regularly had available in the championship, or the 10,000 there were in L1. Everyone keeps telling us what a great businessman he is and if this is the case then you dont have to be an ex banker to recognise that spending £50m expanding a stadium to then reduce ticket prices to a 1/3 of what they are now is not good business. No amount of typing and typing and typing and typing about what Bayern Munich do is going to change that.
-
Who cares what eastleigh get? You're clearly missing the point. It's a fan owned community club, it's a great idea and good to see some people have got the gumption to get off their arse and do something. They have over 3000 members and each of them owns a part of the club.
-
FCUM is a great idea and credit it where its due to those who have made it a success. They've done something about the issues they had with their own club.
-
So if no one owns football, then f*ck the dads with kids, they dont have a right to attend. Lets price as much as we can and only the people who can afford it will be welcome. And as Dell days says, if you think a premier league club are every going to reguarly charge £12 a match then you're seriously deluded. I cant remember it being less than £15 to get into Saints since the seats went in at the Dell in the mid ninties, nearly 20 years ago.
-
Apart from anything else what is the point of sending someone to prison for 28 days? It's ridiculous. Their football ban means they wont be allowed near a ground for 6 years. What was "the potential for disaster" the judge was on about? Yet again stupid and massively over the top sentances.
-
absolutely nuts.
-
He didn't do much wrong against Man United.
-
i know you're just filling in for MLG but you've got some way to go yet, you haven't even mentioned Chelseas crowds in 1984 yet for a start, nor the fact that Everton only have an average 7k higher than us despite being 5th and having a 40k stadium (this means we have more fans than them), or what Reading might be doing one day, or that we sold out in 2004 for a game against Bolton. Massive tsk.
-
The only stumbling block i can see to this, other than the ones you mention, are the fact that Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs in Europe, regularly win the German title and make the latter stages of the champions league. As well as of course being in the third largest city in Germany with a population 6 times bigger than Southamptons and is city very popular with tourists. You're going to have to sell a lot of pie and pint deals to make up the other shortfall from cutting ticket prices to a tenner and increasing the debt to c£50m. Other than that it's an excellent idea.
-
As a business case it makes absolutely perfect sense to spend c£50m to expand St Marys and then reduces prices to £10.
-
Such a dell sized mentality!! They said we'd never fill st Marys when we moved here!
