  1. Because the point, which you have clearly missed as usual, is that 7 of our first XI last week were here before Adkins wasabi we've spent c£20m in the last 3 windows on players who aren't good enough for the premier league at the moment.
  2. Round of applause for committee Pardew!
  3. 'and' the committee? Who was on th committee before Reed was here?
  4. Cork is clearly on of the four of the fourteen who have been a good signing.
  5. So you admit you don't read them, don't know what I think yet make sweeping statements about what I think and what I would do. Odd.
  6. Okay let's try this another way. We have been our best and most consistent performers this season?
  7. Reed wasn't here when Pardew signed Fonte, Lambert and Puncehon. Round of applause for Pardew!
  8. Utterly mental and innacurate post.
  9. 3 of them were Pardews and one of them was Lowes. Let's hear it for the manager of Newcastle and chairman or Garforth town!!
  10. Well you obviously don't have a clue what I think and clearly don't read my posts properly as I don't think either of them are. In fact I've praised Cortese on another thread only today, still stick to hiding behind generalisations sunshine.
  11. 5 players from our league one team have effortless made the step up. As have Clyne, Cork and Shaw has effortlessly made the step up from youth team. Yes, it would be very strange to sign players that would effortlessly make the step up as no one ever does.
  12. Read the whole thread.
  13. Does £40m spend over 3 transfer windows on 14 players to end up 4 players good enough for the premier league sound like good business to you?
  14. I do laugh at people claiming we've been promoted quicker than the ability of our squad can cope with. In the case of 7 of the first choice team from our league one days we haven't, they all started last saturday and it's arguable that they are some of our better players. The reality is that these players have been suplimeted in the main by ones who aren't up to it or ones for the future. Not ones who can establish us as a premier league club. Of our current signings Clyne has been a success, but he is the only one really. Yoshida is better than Hooliveld but the jury is still out on him as it is for many of the others and our marquee signing whilst looking quality and is certainly a class act still has a little bit of work to do, IMO.
  15. How are Garforth Town getting on with their tilt for the premier league in 20 years which they must be about 10 years into now? Last time i checked they were Northern Premier League so only need 8 promotions in 10 years to make it.
  16. what it says is that of the near on £40m on 14 players that has been spent in the last 3 transfer windows we've only signed 4 players who were good enough to be first choice starters in the premier league.
  17. You'll be pleased to know I am now a member of the 3 series owners club.
  18. 6 of the players that started last Saturday were with us in L1, with Shaw as a youth product 7 of our starting 11 were here before Adkins was and 4 were signed by Adkins/Cortese/Reed. So Let's look at his/their transfer record. Boruc Hooliveld Fox Davis De Ridder Lee Sharp Gazzaniga Mayuka Rodriguez I make that a combined fee of about £20m in the last 3 windows and not one of the outfield players would make our first team if everyone was fit. The two goal keepers are no real improvment on Davis.Says a lot about our transfer policy.
  19. The queues are far smaller now than they used to be. When you have 30,000 people, most of them trying to get In within 20 minutes of each other it's inevitable. The bar code scanners reduce queuing time and queues. This is worth a booking fee charge alone IMO.
  20. So when some managers as successful with money we are told on here it's only because they have money they couldn't do it without it. However if Nige is a sucess its because he's a brilliant manager doing a great job regardless of the money he had compared to our rivals, if he isn't successful it's because the money he had wasn't spent wisely by others, yes?
  21. I agree. But will those on here who critise other managers success as being purely down to money also claim Nige wouldn't have kept us up without it? It would only be fair if they did.
  22. As ive always said, if we stay up then he's done well. My original point was though was that some of our fans belittle the achievements of some managers by saying they are only any good when they have money to spend. By that yardstick then surely they will also be critical of Nigel unless we finish midtable, as he too has spent significant sums of money.
  23. We had an extra season to rebuild after our relegation. In Schniderlin, Fonte, K Davis, Lambert, Lallana and Puncheon we had players at the club when Adkins took over that started our last home game in the Premier league and have arguably been some of our best players this season, with the obvious exception of Davis. Im by no means belittling what Adkins has done, he still had to find a winning forumla but to say he had to rebuild and it was tougher for us than it was for Norwich is rose tinted nonsense. We've spent double what they have in the same period and he inherited a team in L1 where over half of them have since proven themselves to be capable of performing in the premier league.
  24. The better side won. Torres missed a sitter again.
  25. Have you forgotten they lost 7-1 at home on the opening day of the season they got promoted from L1?! Great side!
