and it matters not if we think he should stay or not, he'll do what he wants. I just wish if he does go they'd get on with it and we spend them money on players that do want to be here.

Update from outside SMS. great night with jack and maureen from Shirley. Nothing like a rendition of your favourite saints songs at 2.30am. We played guess the crowd for 2 hours with jack able to remember every attendance from the 89/90 season. At the moment we are just sitting here is a state of perpetual excitement, sweating, flushed and chomping at to get what we are here for. We were hoping to see the 9 but it appears he isn't a true loyal fan or else he'd be here with us other fanatics. Reporters from SSN, fox sports, ESPN, BBC are all here and rumour has it 10,000 Japanese fans have just arrived at Eastleigh airport by charter jumbo. Back of the queue people!! I hope Nicky hurries up with the teas we're parched!!!

It is very rare that a player stays with a smaller club when a top 4 club comes in for him. Not negativity FACT. Think Bridge, Rooney, Henderson, all players playing for clubs they started out with and supported. If you were a player, from say, London, was playing for a club like Saints but had no emotional ties too, lets say, Leicester, and Arsenal came in for you, offering twice as much money and the chance to play in the top 4 of the premier league, champions league, with a great manager and some great players. What would you do? Or to put it another way, if you were working for a medium sized local business and a huge corporate offered you at least twice as much money, the chance to work with and learn from the best in their profesion, much better career prospects etc, what would you do? I know some of you think we are the new Barcelona and on an unstoppable charge up the leagues to the champions league but people need to get a grip. If we can keep him for another season then that will be brilliant and i would love him to and think he'd be better in terms of his development, but all it will do is delay the inevitable. If you want to all bury your head in the sand and think he is going to stay with us out of love for the club and because of Nickys vision then you are extremely naive. Players like Chamberlain move onto bigger clubs. Just like Bridge. Just like Rooney. Just like Henderson. Just like Barry. Just like Ashley Young. Just like Chris Smalling. Just like Phil Jones. The list is endless. FFS ever a club like Spurs are struggling to keep hold of Modric.

It's true. Like internationals have stars on their shirts to represent how many times they have won the world cup, football league clubs have the same thing for how many times they have won the Johnstones Paint Trophy.
-
I like that slogan, maybe we could use this in the future. Like Rangers have "more than a club" as their slogan, we could have SFC - AWOL.

I've got a feeling tonight/tomorrow morning is going to be one of those "i was there "moments. However, I am having trouble understanding Maureen as she only has three teeth and is at least 6 stone overweight, meanwhile Jack smells of a combination of BO and Whiskey. However they have brought their Saints scarf for the echo tomorrow so they can stand at the front for the photo shoot with us either proudly wearing our new shirts or our sad faces at the disapointment that they were delayed. Cant wait for the free tea, not looking forward to the car park charges. Might return my kit as soon as i've bought it for that reason.

I am not going to sleep tonight and am setting up camp outside SMS as we speak.

He's jealous because it's better than any of the mock ups he did.

Yet more spin. Yet more people confusing realism with negativity. If you want to keep your head in the sand then thats up to you. but it is very, very rare taht when a big, big ie Top 4 club come calling a player turns them down. I'd love CHamberlain to stay but i think he'll go and if that is the case lets get the best deal possible and spend the money on player (s) that do want to be here. I think he'd be better off staying here as well FWIW, but it doesn't matter what we think, it appears that his old man wants him to go and that now he does. I cant blame him for it either, who wouldn't want to play for a club like Arsenal if you had no personal loyalty to Saints? if you want to spin that as me being negative then thats up to you.
-
You are obsessed with me aren't you you wierdo.
-
lol @ all the spin on here. Direct quotes people, these are the words of someone who wants to go. “It has been fantastic helping them to get promoted. But now I feel I’m ready to play in the Premier League.” Name me one player apart from MLT who has turned down the chance to play at a top club. Depsite what we all think that he might be better off playing regularly here etc etc, what player isn't going to turn down the chance of playing for a top 4 club. We should let him go, get the best deal possible and spend it on a decent replacement. People need to get their head out of the sand, it doesn't matter what we think he should do, him and his old man will decide. It appears they have both decided he is off to Arsenal. Now Nicola, take as much money as we can get and spend a fair whack of it on a decent young replacement.

Hopefully there will be another Echo article with the sad faces of loyal fans who had queued through the night only to be disapointed.

i would f*cking p*ss myself if this is true.

Some of you seem to forget as good as Lallana was in L1 he is unproven in the championship, last time round he looked lightweight and not up to it. He still has a lot to prove as this level. When it mattered at the business end of last season, we were a better side without Chamberlain. As we know the best players dont always make the best teams, Chamberlain needs to work hard and win his place back as at the moment we should be sticking with the team which proved itself the last 14 games of last season. On the other hand we have already been told by many on here Guly will excel this season and will get more time on the ball, based on this he is a shoe in as he was at times, marvelous last season. On the left Dickson has the pace many have been asking for and his crossing is excellent as he showed last season, he would be the ideal person to feed Lambert.
-
This midfield is class IMO.dean is the DM we have and our captain and leader, he has a big role to play this season. Chaplow is the only CM we have capable of breaking forward and he has a better engine than JC and MS. Outwide Guly is a bit of an enigma but likely to pop up with A goal from that position, like he did away at Daggenham. Dickson is quality he crossing is world class, look the one for Lamberts header away at Orient. People over rate chamberlain, don't forget our best form last season came when he was injured.
-
Does anyone know if we've sold out yet? We must be close.
-
Guly Chaplow Hammond Dickson

Good, good. We have someone on hand to go to the bar for us whilst you bite at the other 5% of things i say xxx
-
Why? DId they want to sign Jack Colback?
-
So abusive. If you dont like it put me on ignore, either that or go an bosh one out and get that frustration out of your systems. It really is very simple.
-
Did he ever actually join us? I remember an article about it two or three months ago in some foreign paper but cant remember anything from the club. He isn't listed on club staff list on the OS either.
