But as proven further up the thread gypsies ARE an ethnic minority and consider a race. Therefore your views could well be considered racist. And to answer your question, i have significant experience of travellers. I boxed with them at boxing clubs in Hampshire, on several occasions they have pitched up near my house. I've never felt the need to put extra locks on my shed, i've never been affected by "thieving scum who should go back to where they came from" Now a final question for you, if a family of Africans moved in next door, would you bake them a cake and intive them into your house to help themselves to your food/warmth etc...? Or would you put extra locks on your shed and keep more of a watchful eye on your property?

I refer you to the post above about them being Irish Gypsies who should go back to where they came from. I think you'll find Irish gypsies are protected under the race equality act. I thought you would know this being a law graduate. In fact some of you should read this.... Sorry yes that's right. Saying all travellers are scum, are thieves, the ones that do work are rip of merchants or con men and they should all be sent back where they came from isn't racist is it. Tell me, do you think this about people that say this about blacks and asians as well?

If the locals embraced them and the council welcomed them to the area, provided them with Portaloos and skips on their arrival rather than peddling rumours and myths to frighten the local residents and trying to get rid of them straight away then perhaps that would hp them. They'd feel welcome rather than being treated worse than animals.

I live near the university. We've had different sets of students living next door every year. During the summer the house owner keeps the garden clean and tidy. As soon as the students this year moved in it becomes full of rubbish, they didn't cut the grass once in the whole year meaning by the time they left it was about 5 foot high. Out the front on the drive the left a mountain of rubbish, bits of wood, food that was god knows how old, all piled up in the drive and on the pavement, they had cars, why not do what all normal people do and go to the dump rather than expecting tax payers money to be used to clean it up? Whilst they lived there they were a total pain, rude, noisy, ignorant. The old lady the other side said she was often kept up until 4 in the morning by their loutish behaviour, just being drunk, loud and obnoxious. Now I've nothing against students, most of them are okay but why do they think they can rock up in a nice street behave how they want and upset all the locals then leave the place an absolute sh*t hole. This is supposed to be the cream of our youth, the future of out country. The government should bring in laws to evict them.

Indeed, just in the few posts on this forum they've been labelled Scum, all bad news and accused of increasing crime wherever they go. Clearly lessons from the past have not been learned and society has not moved on.
