I had it for years mate, people are desperate for you to be wrong when you have a position of trust. As you will know sometimes things that you get told dont happen, that's what happens when you're dealing with human beings and multi-million pound transactions. People change their minds, they get a better offer, get cold feet. I've seen dozens of deals that seem as good as done only for them to change at the last minute. Two players i can think of had even said good bye to their clubs and taken their stuff away only for the deal not to happen at the last minute. It's weird, it must be jealousy that's all i can think of.
