That is not how i remember it, I remember loads complaining about him always being offside and not understanding the rule. His stock has risen dramaticaly since he left. Nostalga is a great thing, but quite simply he was not as good as most on here think.

Unfortunately that is the problem with being outside the PL. Look at Fabian Delph, 40 odd games for Leeds over 3 years and as soon as he established himself in the first team all the PL clubs were sniffing around and he was gone. The top top youngesters like Walcott and Bale will always end up at one of the bigger clubs eventually but any talented youngester playing in the lower leagues will get picked up. Depsite people thinking a player would be better off staying here and playing first team football you are deluding yourself thinking if a top 4 club come in and offer £15k a week to play in the youth team and reserves and learn your trade off of international players then its going to turn any young players head.

we should, its actually 5, nearly half our team. There is the £2m rated Puncheon, Fonte and Lambert to Newcastle, Chamberlain to Arsenal and Lallana to a few teams. This is great news and shows we have a team of premier league players, they are just playing like a midtable league one side to fool team in the championship that we will be a soft touch when we win promotion.

Okay 3 games on loan at championship level and 6 games over 2 year at Plymouth doesn't make him a championship player anymore than Carlton Palmer, Geoff Thomas and Keith Curle playing for England made them world class players. Until he has proven himself over a couple of seasons then and only then can you say he is a championship quality player. Come on admit it, you know that your £1.5m-£2m for Puncheon was a stupid thing to say, just admit it, there is no shame in being wrong.
