  1. Similar story with Danny Mills when he renegotiated his Leeds contract after become an England international. He was supposedly on about £25k with his first contract, before the meeting with Risdale it was agreed with his agent they would ask for about £40k, on the way to the meeting they decided to go balls out and ask for nearer £50k not expecting to get anywhere near it, he ended up walking away with a deal for about £60k. Its on a podcast called Under the cosh you can hear where Mills tells the whole story along with some other good stuff about his time as a player.
  2. Why would anyone be unhappy about that? Weird
  3. He’s blocked me but apparently he also said keep an eye on Ings back to saints. I’m still keeping an eye on the new contract he said Ings and Bertrand signed 👀
  4. They’re going to have have to order some more wristbands. The ones spelling out Orsic are no good now. Although we could have some hilarious bantz with #Bednaback
  5. We’ve got to check the data and the stats to make sure the formula is correct. Plus we won’t be pushed around, we do deals on our terms when we want.
  6. Another completely bonkers point 🤣 Some seem to still think £12-£15m is big money for us, we were spending that 10 years ago on the likes of Ramirez and Osvaldo. If you want to buy quality it costs money and sometimes you have to pay a bit more than you’d like it’s a very simple concept however much you want to blather on about Burger flippers buying Ferraris or something
  7. yet you’ve provided several examples of it only working negatively, along with you little made up bonkers scenario were for some reason we spend millions more on players we signed anyway leaving nothing left. you want to live in a world where we refuse to pay any more than we want to for good players. A world that is our current reality and it’s going bloody brilliantly.
  8. Because you plucked a random name out of the sky of a player who was a flop and said if we’d have paid more we could have ended up with him. So I did the same with a player who we missed out on for the sake of £1m who was a huge success. I’d have thought that would have been obvious. You pay more for good players improve your team, generally these players attack a lot of interest which pushes the price up, crap players cost less and don’t have the same level of interest it’s kind of how a transfer market works.
  9. Who is Jack Rosser? Sounds like an Eastenders character
  10. Maybe the wristbands will spell out the name of our new signing the length of the stand. just imagine how cool that would be
  11. We also missed out on some fella called Marc Cucurella because we wouldn’t pay more than £15m, he signed for someone else for £16m wonder what happened to him?
  12. Apart from the direct quote from our leaders saying we had two deals agreed, yes?
  13. Who knows if they were or not, what we do know and has been stated by the clubs leaders is that two deals were close being done for two high profile attacking players and both didn’t happen, with strong rumours one didn’t happen because we were haggling over a couple of million. Unless the club are lying of course.
  14. Imagine if we’d paid over the odds to get Gakpo and Ramos done, we’d have very little to do now
  15. We’re going to have to score at least two to win then.
  16. Why not, he’d be as effective there as Lyanco and Stephens and everyone seems to want them there
  17. To put it into perspective we probably need to win as many games in our last 19 as we won in the whole of 2022, possibly more.
  18. Another left back!! 🤣🤣 https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/23225755.will-jayden-oosterwolde-join-saints-transfer-window/?fbclid=IwAR3IDu-OdzVQoS6jDu2YYj_A32W-GXWF4GIqt1TY6Kf6Bv8lZX3gQ7-e_TQ
  19. LGBT, Person of Colour and disabled?
  20. well seeing as our expectation is relegation then he really isn't managing much
  21. Yep, it'll be too late by then. We've got a decent run of game now once we get into Feb We play Wolves at home in a massive 6 pointer, Chelsea, Brentford and Leeds away, possibly get a point at Leeds but nothing from Chelsea and Brentford, then in March and April we play all the current top 5, plus WHU away, Palace and Bournemouth at home. Can honestly only see very maximum of 11 points from that lot, more likely 6 or 7. If we go into that run of games with this lot and the manager we'll be down by with quite a few games to spare
  22. nah, Forest win home games and have a decent manager and have improved after a poor start. We dont win games at home, have a crap manager and are getting worse.
  23. Jail House rock as our new run out music?
  24. We do need to come straight back up. Haven't we got a shit load of debt with a massive interest rate due to start repaying in 3 years time? That'll coincidence perfectly with the end of the parachute payments. Presumably selling off some of the better players when we go down will enable us to fund a decent punt at coming straight by buying a few decent championship players, not more YHGTIers.
  25. We might get lucky against Forest, we wont be Palace and we always lose at Everton.
