Why though? Why isn’t an oil gazillionaire buying us with our fanbase and catchment area and history and rainbow shirts? I just don’t understand.
-
Exactly, just like a Newcastle player won’t be living in a council house in Gateshead.
-
I quite agree. Moved away 8 years ago to the north and cities up here are miles ahead of Southampton for many reasons. There are parts of the north that are shitholes, mainly the old mill towns but the countryside and coast is stunning and the big cities miles better. Makes me laugh how people down south dismiss everything north is a shit hole. I wouldn’t move back to Southampton now, if I moved back south it’s been Winchester, Brighton or Bournemouth.
-
You’re kidding me? Newcastle is a much better city with far more going on for a young footballer than Southampton. Then outside of Newcastle 45 minutes or so north you’ve got Bamburgh area which is stunning, beautiful beaches, golf courses and some nice towns and villages. I was up there a few weekends ago and it’s a great part of the country. In fact that whole coast line from Whitby upwards is superb. It’s a great part of the world.
-
Afraid not. Whilst Newcastle celebrate a takeover saints have some really exciting breaking news hidden that I fear has been lost https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-10-07/southampton-fa-diversity-leadership-code

See that before he’s a very funny guy. Soggy can’t be racist his barber is a Muslim
-
Done Deal. Now bid for Saints Mike.
-
yet again you prove yourself to be a middle class white person telling everyone what they should be thinking from their leafy white town. Surely to have a valid opinion you need direct experience. Otherwise it’s an opinion based on heresay, what you read and watch or in your case confirmation bias. In any cases you preach it’s not sharing your opinion, you’re far more pious than that. Given your only exposure to non white people is someone who cuts your hair and pulls your pints this pious postering is laughable I hope you keep reminding your barmaid how terrible her life must be given what an awful amount of racism she has to suffer. How lucky she is to work in a town full of white middle class people who completely get her struggle.

Ashley would probably love to take over a club like Saints. We've all become so used to buying cheap and selling anyone half decent that in many ways we are the perfect club for him and he wont get anything like the grief Newcastle fans gave him, in fact as long as he says the right things about ambition every now and again he'll probably have a lot of our great fans eating out of his hands.
-
Sitting proudly next to the paint pot. The only club in the country to win the piss pot and the paint pot. Another record.
-
Am i right in saying we are in the second tier of womens football? It goes WSL then Premier league south and North?
-
If we get promoted to the WSL then it looks like it will be at Readings expense. Which means you can draw a line from Brighton through Birmingham up to Manchester and we will be the only WSL team in that area, the catchment area is huge. There will be loads of fans wanting to come to Southampton for their fix of WSL Football next season!

I heard the Saudis were interested in buying us but when they saw our rainbow shirts they realised we weren’t the club for them
-
Much like the manager perfect for saints. Just about good enough that he’s popular and fans like him, but just shit enough that no one much better than us would want him.
-
Well spotted. Clever little lad aren’t you
-
I didn’t say I was answering you merely pointing out Soggys experience and perhaps a reason why he’s so desperate to appear anti racist
-
Given Soggys exposure to non white people he’d love more as they provide a service to him

Amazing how a comment about computer games has got you all hot under the collar
-
You keep telling yourself i dont know what a computer game is if it makes you feel better, i'll keep watching you prove that when it comes to actually understanding what is going on during a football match you have very little clue.
-
Obviously, ridiculous response. You're starting to come across as a MLGlite. What it was is yet another example of people without a clue about football thinking they're experts. Not helped by wallys who go on about how although Saints lost at the weekend at least they had Salah in their fantasy team for example.
-
Because all the smart, good at football, compute gamers i know are under 14. Obviously there are probably exceptions but most people i know who are obsessed with stats and others things like fantasy football dont have a frigging clue what they're on about. This forum is conclusive evidence of that
-
Not at all, i know plenty of young kids who are good at football, smart and play computer games.
-
It didn't say, but in the second paragraph of the match report it mentioned it was watched by over 2000, so assumed it was a big deal. As the popularity of womens football grows they might make it to 2,500 for the big games in year to come.
-
And a michelin chef has also spent quite a lot of time in the kitchen cooking themselves, not just reading books or playing computer games.
