  1. Yep and like I said that was because 3 of our best players were sold that summer. We replaced our two top scorers, Mane and Pelle with Austin (who only played 15 league games that season due to injury), Redmond and Boufal. Then he went from having one of the best centre back pairings in Europe in the first half of the season to the worst in the premier league from January. It’s no wonder we finished 17 point worse off. Imagine the excuses people would make from Ralph under those circumstances, instead all we get is boring Claude didn’t do as well as Koeman and Pochetino
  2. Hardly the same. Moyes had 10 relatively successful years at Everton before getting one of the biggest jobs in football which was an impossible task to follow Ferguson. Adkins was great for us but taking a club like saints with the players we had out of league one isn’t exactly the stuff of a managerial genius, the championship was excellent and he can feel aggrieved to have been sacked with us doing alright in the premier league but that was his peak and it was 10 years ago. Since then he’s never even got close to repeating that success.
  3. That’s how I saw it. Definite pen not a red. But as usual a decision against a big club might impact the premier league brand so can’t have it
  4. It may just as well be. When you can take a team from the conference to champions league winners it’s hard to take it seriously
  5. I remember going to see Harrogate v Leyton Orient in the conference only 7 years (I think) after going to see saints play Orient away in league 1 when both play off contenders. Like you say how fortunes shift
  6. A great guy he is for sure but the reality is he was never going to last with us once we got back to the premier league. The reasons why were done to death at the time. Sadly he’s lived off his success with us and been a failure since. Sacked by reading and Sheffield United, hardly set the world on fire at hull and now struggling eye charlton. A cracking guy and will always be popular here but as a manager he peaked a decade ago. Can’t see him getting too many more opportunities if he doesn’t turn it around at charlton.
  7. Need to beat wolves. We probably won’t win at Chelsea so that puts huge pressure on the Leeds game if we are no win in 7 by then. Wolves are struggling a bit so hopefully we can add to their woes. Although won’t be easy
  8. Lost their first game this season today. My son is at their young players academy (u9s), the first team manager turns up to most sessions and chats to the parents, too bloke. A really great club.
  9. I’m letting a tourist from Japan have my ticket as I know how desperate they are to see a premier league team so won’t be selfish and take a ticket that would be better appreciated by someone else
  10. I may have mentioned a year ago I joined the CrossFit cult 😀 since then I’ve competed, completed an tough mudder style event. However I’ve got quite into doing these less glamour challenges. The latest one is “bring sally up bring sally down” you basically get in the press up position and play the song which lasts about 3.30 mins. Here what it is, but to summarise you’re in the press up position for the duration of the song, bring sally up hold in at the top of the position, bring sally down hold at the bottom until it says bring sally up. Watch this and give it a go, it’s. a lot harder than it looks. If you make it to the end of the song you’re a beast. That’s the aim for me. Give it a go and post how you get on 😀 Anyone done any others?
  11. I get called a cunt regularly. I’ve been subject to some quite horrible abusing comments actually but don’t feel the time is right to deny the forum of my insights. Only this week someone only posted on a thread simply to abuse me. I doubt the mods did anything about it as usual. I wouldn’t let it bother you. Like you say it says more about them. It’s hilarious that people can’t control their emotions on when they don’t agree with what someone says on a football forum
  12. Me too. Very surprised to see Salisu left out although he did play a large part in the end. Thought we’d be the next lambs to the slaughter but very pleased with the result and performance. Am I right in saying under the double jeopardy rule Walker wouldn’t have been sent off if we’d got a penalty? Although it appears to be a terrible (again) bit do VAR against us I’m not convinced we’d have held onto a lead against them anyway.
  13. Regression. A cup final and an 8th placed finish when you had 3 of your best players sold in the summer, another sold in January and the best centre half in the league out for half a season? Okay then.
  14. And that got Puel the sack due to his boring football. So I expect the knives to be out for Ralph soon
  15. Fantastic result that. City been smashing teams at home. Maybe it could have been better but still a very pleasing result. Dare I say it but have we developed a bit of backbone and grit?
  16. play until they score
  17. Minutes looking for a reason to give theirs, minutes looking for a reason not to give ours
  18. Odds on a city winner in time added on for a VAR review gotta be high
  19. That’s because it’s a fictional computer game.
  20. A riot? Where? There would have been some mildly disgruntled fans in our end booing the ref. A laughing off of fortune city win with some cheap gags and how city got out of jail on March of the day and it’ll all be forgotten by tomorrow
  21. Not since the penalties we didn’t get/given against us last season, the shirt sleeve offside goals ruled out, the sendings offs that weren’t even fouls.
  22. The point of the EPL is that the big teams with the most money and biggest sponsors and audiences must stay at the top. Sadly we are the cannon fodder for the big pantomime. Now you’re all starting to realise
  23. Yep. We all know it.
  24. This is why premier league football is pointless for clubs like us
  25. No Salisu 🤷🏽‍♂️
