  1. West Ham and Newcastle fans might well disagree but I bet West Ham fans aren’t moaning now as they’re challenging for the the top 4. They’ve a net spend of £150m the last 5 years Newcastle fans also bleat on as they are entitled thinking they should be a top 6 club, theyve spent over £100m more than they’ve made from transfers last 5 season yet Mike Ashley is hated as a tight fisted cockney wanker. In that same period we’ve made a profit from transfers yet still don’t have a pot to piss in and our fans stand back and applaud the model whilst getting all upset if anyone refers to Goa as the chinaman
  2. Eddie izzard being referred to As her on GMB this morning. How brave of them 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
  3. You should both be cancelled
  4. North Korea has many female leaders and not only are they female they are also people of colour. Despite the negative propoganda from the racist misogynistic west North Korea is more progressive country than any of them https://www.38north.org/2020/09/ddraudt092520/
  5. My point is that people are picking and choosing what history to airbrush. Slavery of black people was awful, but black people were not the only slaves. The Roman Empire was guilty of slavery more so than anyone they estimate 20-30% of people under the Roman Empire are slaves, why is no one tearing down Rome? Auchwitz is a grave for the brutal murder of thousands of innocent people, yet is now basically a tourist attraction. This thread is about learning from history, yet some people seem to want to pick and chose what history they erase whilst ignore others. Either we erase all negative history or we don’t and learn from it.
  6. Plenty of films books and documentaries about the Holocaust too
  7. Aren’t we ignoring history by erasing any reference to historical slavery, racism etc?
  8. We would have to do that pandemic or not. We’ve had to sell to buy for years despite being in the richest league in the world for 9 years now.
  9. Not just statues though is it. They get rid of 100 year old paintings because they aren't diverse enough, they ban books because it might upset people as it mentions slavery, we seem to want to deal with it by erasing all evidence it ever happened. Not sure why that shouldn't apply to everything bad that ever happened in that case rather than picking and choose what to pretend never took place.
  10. Who decided what gets cancelled?
  11. No, why would they? What a strange question
  12. So rather than answer the point you chose to launch another attack on me. Auchwitz has plenty of visitors each year, should the place that is the location of the murder of thousands of people be effectively a tourist attraction? As this thread is about re-examing and learning from our history then dont you think this is worth discussion?
  13. Why would you be embarassed? It's a valid point. Auchwitz is horrific, Should we cancel any negative history whatsoever? Where does it stop? Why are only statues to be toppled?
  14. Just had a thought, as we are now living in a cancel culture where the BLM movements wants to tear down any negative historical history, destroy statues and basically ignore anything historical that ever happen writing history as well go, should we tear down Auchwitz too? Lets pretend that never happened as this is in line with the cancel culture that is being trumpeted.

    Danny Ings

I love how Ings is being dubbed as Agueros replacement. They're replacing probably the best striker they've ever had with one who has had one good season in five years spending half of 4 of them injured.
  16. Probably recently glued themselves to trains at Extinct Rebellion protests.
  17. I wonder how much the clubs did actually know. Surely no one would be aware that young boys were being raped and molested in the homes of people of authority and not do anything about it. The late 80s and early 90s were a very different time. As i mentioned before, Higgins lived near me and we used to see him a fair bit there were loads of rumours about him but it was a bit of a joke, you're queer if you go to Higgins soccer camps etc that sort of thing. At school i'm sure pretty much every school had a rumoured gay PE teacher who wanted to get the boys into the showers afterwards so he could look at them. Of course it wasn't true, but that didn't stop the stories going round the school and if other teachers didn't hear them then they walked round with plugs in their ears. I did my work experience at a company in Shirley in the early 90s. All the blokes and women there told me that one particular person was gay and liked young boys so dont get left alone with him, again it was a joke. I'm sure all the youngsters on here will think it was sick but that's how it was in those days. If you investigated every story of people in authority being rumoured to be child abusers based on stories from teenage boys then thousands would be. I wonder if the reality of the clubs awareness is more along those lines, dismissed, like many were, as silly stories that spread round the groups like the gay PE Teacher who looks at the boys willies in the shower. What happened to those lads is horrific and of course should not be allowed but i really struggle to believe that anyone would ignore it if they knew the truth of what was going on. If they did then they should be in front of the courts as well. In the case of Higgins as soon as it got out he left the club and later stood trial, i understand there are some high profile players who didn't come out to support the lads at Saints which is pretty shameful. I'm not for one second making light of this as it truly is horrific but being around the same age group as some of these lads, also a young wannabe footballer who came into contact with Higgins, lived near him, knew plenty of lads that went to his soccer schools, played in the Sotonia cup etc and remember what the climate was like in that time, whist it's easy to say the clubs should have done more, i struggle to believe anyway actually knew the reality of what was going on until much, much later.
  18. Who else is buzzing for the womens champions league tonight and England v San Marino behind closed doors tomorrow?

When you got five quality players competing for the one starting slot alongside our international star striker Adams it’d be a total waste of money to bring someone in, no guarantees they’d be any better than what we got. I’d rather we just kept the money in the bank to help swell out bank balance. Also think we should invest some of it into the women’s team. It’d be great to see them in the WPL, especially now from next season we can see them on telly more.
  20. Sorry, where?

Redmond has shown his class in that postion. Long will return from Bournemouth full of confidence, a fit Obafemi will be like a new signing, Tella will kick on and N’Duludulululuduludululululudu will be better for a year with the first team. We don’t really want to bring anyone in to block their pathway.
  22. Just seen it. Sickening. Higgins used to come to my school a lot as we were only down the road, he came with Danny Wallace a few times, you can see how he could suck people in as he’d tell us all, kids of 10,11, 12 what we had to do to be pro footballers. A few of my school mates went to his soccer schools and he’d come to our school matches sometimes, of course you wants to impress. There were always rumors about him but it was always considered a bit of joke, Horrific in hindsight seeing now what the lads went through.
  23. They aren’t saints supporters, they are premier league consumers
  24. I choose when we talk, you dance to my tune. I’m your pied piper.
  25. Glad we agree it was pointless post then. 👏👏👏👏
