  1. We've had quite a few like that. Looked really promising in their early years then careers faded away into nothing. Paul Robinson, Richard Wright, Chris Kirkland, Ben Foster were all at one time tipped to be Englands number one for a long time, all got big moved and ended up never achieving their potential.
  2. 👏👏👏 these are fantastic, if these cars don’t end homophobia nothing will
  3. I for one am just glad that during a pandemic with waiting lists at an all time high they are concentrating on things that really matter. Like telling white people what books to read
  4. Maybe. He’s meant to be on £28k a week at the moment. If he won’t sign a new deal WBA will probably want to try and get a fee for him though. £5m fee and £40k a week in Jan should be enough to keep player and selling club thinking they’ve got a good deal and a good deal for us too. Reckon still end up with a young keeper
  5. One of the most over rated players around
  6. Free transfer next summer. I reckon there is a good chance he might arrive in January if Forster finds another club by then. We get Forster off the wage bill, West Brom get a fee for Johnstone. Everyone’s a winner
  7. Surely if you’re a bloke interested in football from somewhere like Andorra or Litchenstein you’ve got a great chance of being an international footballer. Population of 77k, half women, probably of what’s left 2/3s of those either too old or young.
  8. Enjoy watching our new keeper 😉
  9. That’s society though. There is bias everywhere. Some companies will only employ people with degrees even if you can do the job without a degree. Finding a load of blokes in their 20s, 30s and 40s all dressed the same to go to a football match embarrassing is a woke comment? You don’t understand what woke is do you
  10. So using real life experiences of people know and are close to is trump card? Maybe we should just believe everything the guardian tell us instead i haven’t asked them about the black t-shirt crew but like me I expect they find them cringeworthy and embarrassing.
  11. Pulled out the troll line again because I said something to didn’t like 🤣 My view has been made clear time and again. Britain isn’t a racist country but there are racist people in it. If you think it’s ever going to disappear 100% then you’re going to be disappointed.
  12. Of course it’s less valid.
  13. So your example is historical not current then?
  14. Oh believe me pal I’ve had quite a few jibes and spiteful comments about having black friends, usually from people who preach about racism all the time
  15. I hope you took this up with the appropriate people within your organisation to address this issue.
  16. It’s geographical and demographics plain and simple. Local league sport tends to be played by people from the local community. As for the YCC that’s a different case entirely as they have a history of being shall we say, questionable views. Still doesn’t change the fact that I really don’t believe these days they wouldn’t pick someone because of their skin colour.
  17. Coloured people = racist people of colour = absolutely fine 🤷🏽‍♂️
  18. I’ve got a few black friends but I get called racist if I mention it on here 🤣
  19. there is a large Asian population but it’s very condensed into two or three areas. Yorkshire is a huge county outside of The cities a lot of it rural. When you say not encouraged I’m really not sure what you mean and it doesn’t make sense. I can’t imagine village teams have any need to go on recruitment drives in Bradford, in fact with a lot of locally football and cricket teams it’s a struggle to get in. My son is 8 and we had to try about 20 football teams before we found one with a space for him next season. equally, can’t imagine any Asians in Bradford would have any desire to travel 50 miles every week for a game of cricket with a load of bloke they don’t know when they can join a team on their doorstep. That’s the reality.
  20. We all know that’s the reality but that doesn’t suit the current narrative
  21. Extraordinary because it’s not true. I live in Yorkshire and know quite a few people associated with clubs or play cricket. Plenty of people of colour playing in Yorkshire cricket leagues. Yorkshire is a bloody big county when One of the main issues is what you alluded to earlier regarding access to teams. Most but not all of the cricket clubs here are from villages and towns with an overwhelmingly white population, so by default the vast majority of teams are white. Go to parts of Leeds and Bradford and there are plenty of Asian and black players but they are a minority not because no club wants them but someone from Bradford isn’t going to drive 60 miles to play for a village team In Pickering where they don’t know anyone. They would have set this league up based on geographical and demographics not because no one wants any Asians in their teams
  22. Good team with a good manager. Also another one of our bogey teams. Point would be a good result.
  23. I don’t particularly like Palace but I’d like to see him do well because he was a brilliant player who I loved and part of one of my favourite ever non saints teams and seems like a decent bloke, not because hes black. I would question the motives of anyone keen to see him do well just because he’s black.
  24. Maybe someone should remind him what skin colour the manager of the team currently top of the premier league is.
  25. Being black didnt appear to stop Ruud Guilt and Frank Rijkard both managing two pretty big clubs in Chelsea and Barcelona somehow.
