Thats the best he has played for us because he added aggression and tenacity to his technical ability. That sets the standard and shouldn't be a one off.

Miles better albeit against a poor side who were down to 10 men for a long time (through their own stupidity). JWP hasn't played that well for us before, not sure where the aggression and tenacity came from but he needs to keep it. Pretty much everyone played well and it looked a lot more balanced. When we play like that we are a good team, so need to resort to the hoofball of recent times!

Very clear from RK that Wanyama and Mane are staying. Also very clear that despite many on here saying Wanyama is happy or that its media made up bull****: he does want to leave.

If it was any other team than Spurs (certainly if a foreign team) I would just say sell, reinvest in a quality replacement. But almost where we are now this is more about the principle of it than the actual assessment of any offer.

Also fair play to someone like John Stones who was honest about wanting to leave but continues to act professionally until that happens, whenever it might be. He must be pretty hacked off but has carried on playing and playing well. I don't blame Wanyama for wanting to move, that is up to him and he must see ex teammates earning more money at better clubs and want some of it. Its the way its handled that is utterly poor.

He is being left behind. Best performances still come in age group football for Eng U21s. Physical constraints really hamper him compared to say Shelvey or Barkley who are miles ahead.

Mystery one day stomach infection. Fine to train the day before and day after our big European game 4. Renewed report this time from the Times that he trained yesterday but will sit out todays vital game. 5. Reports from Sky that he will sit out todays game 6. Comments from Koeman that he "hasn't spoken to Wanyama about it all yet". Yeah right! 7. Strongly rumoured interest from Spurs. 8. Zero comment from Wanyama on social media to deny the rumours or contextualise them. Do you want him to do a You Tube video with Jim Lucas saying he would like to leave?

Where do we get the cash to sign his replacement then? Doing that would hurt us more than it would Wanyama.

Agree. Just wonder if he might have burned too many bridges, fans, club and also teammates? Which is probably what he intended. Wonder if anyone still believes he wants to stay and it is all media speculation?

If for some reason we sold now we had better have lined up a decent replacement. Our midfield already seems pretty weak this season.

You don't sell a player to a rival who you want to keep and then accept a makeweight who they have been trying to get rid of all summer in a position you don't even need someone. Verdict: not a chance

Some Saints fans on here won't even admit that Wanyama probably wants to leave. Which is just bizarre head in the sand thinking. The main difference between the Stones/Berahino and Wanyama/Mane situation is that there have been confirmed bids for the former, and huge ones in Stones' case. Not sure we have received bids, or at least have denied we have publically. But the interest is obviously there and is more than newspaper trash. Whilst it may not have been totally firmed up, there is no way Wanyama would have behaved like he has nor his camp putting out stories of him telling Koeman he wants to leave without knowing he has somewhere to go.
