He has basically done what he has always done, no better, no worse. Great signing is overdoing it IMO. Wouldn't be near my first choice starting lineup but a handy sub. Thing you cannot escape from is that he misses too many presentable chances. Fortunately for him he works very hard so fans lay off him a bit in that regard.

It is, but then you would really want him to start with the squad in pre season. If we get him I would imagine its because Bremen have reduced their price as they just want to get shot of his wages and yet still wanted €5m.

Could just be based on current location though as assume they have some place to stay in Soton which could be an interim measure if he was looking to get sorted with an English club. If they have already moved back then a move somewhere must be pretty imminent though, and Saints the most likely by far. Wouldnt be too bad as a squad player, loads of attacking depth then.

Arsenal won't win it as their defence still isn't good enough and they will get overpowered in central midfield in the big games.

Hasn't really been any reports on us moving for Van Dijk yet. CB must be a fairly urgent priority as with Gardos seemingly injured we only have two senior options in that position. Imagine we will want to get something done pretty soon.

Strong Saints team, Clasie on bench. No Gaston nor Gardos in the squad. If Gardos is injured then down to just Fonte and Maya as the only fit senior CBs.

I may be wrong, but I think he was more referring to Man Utd who seem to brief their chosen Northern journos like Ogden, Keegan and McDonnell who then end up unsettling players. They were talking of Clyne as a complete done deal since Feb coinciding with a major drop in form, and have been non stop on Schneiderlin for ages. Same with Shaw last year.

Interested to see what sort of team we put out as will want to be fully strength for the opening league games but also need a very strong team for this one. Toughest draw we could have had, but obviously winnable.

Group 3 unseeded teams seem the toughest pot. Got to be hoping for Odd IMO. At the end of the day, with the PL starting, we want the easiest possible route.
