  1. Hopefully in the full interview Reed speaks about transfers in too. I'm not interested in Toby anymore.
  2. So no real reason to doubt Less Reed then really. He can't suddenly move the whole club to London and put us in the CL occassionally, can he? He does a good job, you can't win all the time.
  3. Not at the moment, no.
  4. Stoke signing Marco van Ginkel as part of Begovic deal. Good business.
  5. Yeah good touch. Have only watched a quarter of the video but noticed how so many of our goals either involved quality Schneiderlin passes or quality Schneiderlin interceptions to set us up on the counter!
  6. Good interview with Jay on the official YT.
  7. Thats a bit unfounded. Cedric and Juanmi both look promising. Wilson is stepping up to the big league though. This isn't Falkirk or Huddersfield and judging by "The March" Less Reed should buy him a couple of new suits.
  8. 1. We don't need anyone in Wijnaldum's position let along a player for £15m 2. We need to fund a Toby replacement which will cost. 3. We need to replace Morgan which will cost. 4. We have already spent £10m. 5. No chance we are going to be spending £50m this summer which is what signing Wijnaldum would put us up to with the replacements we need. 6. We haven't even been linked with him from any decent source apart from a foreign report that said Southampton instead of Sunderland.
  9. Not a squad list full of quality players! Mane the best value, maybe Cedric too.
  10. Di Marzio (probably the most reliable football journalist around) confirmed our late bid for Ogbonna. Pretty dismal allround if he was our second choice. Baptism of fire for Ross Wilson? http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/ogbonna-will-take-his-medical-officially-join-west-ham-in-next-few-hours-despite-southampton-napolis-late-attempts/
  11. Possibly, who knows? Just easy for people to talk about chucking €22m to a club as if it is nothing, when early business and interviews from Reed and Krueger have hinted at a lot less spend than last summer.
  12. Maybe we can't afford it? We will need to "replace" Toby despite not having received a transfer fee. Have already spent the Clyne money, committed £10m on Bertrand, numerous fees still being paid from last summer and the TG costs, plus paying off Osvaldo. Perhaps the Morgan cash will need to replace him and Toby? Besides, that player likely to only be bothered by a Champions League move, seeing as his team have that secured this season.
  13. I think its you...this is a joke thread, right?
  14. Some chat we bid for Ogbonna after knowing Toby wasnt coming but it was too late as he has a WH medical tomorrow.
  15. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3154042/Manchester-United-head-Southampton-Morgan-Schneiderlin-deal-pre-season-tour.html
  16. Bence was apparently good friends in the dressing room with Mane and helped him settle, so slightly concerned what impact that could have.
  17. I know you were there, and thanks for the report but did Stephens and Turnbull really do "very well"? We conceded 5 and JS played the whole game! Isgrove I won't get excited about until I see him do anything in a competitive match, he has been good the last two pre seasons. How were the new boys, and most importantly, Alpine?
  18. A lot of bitterness here. He was a really good player for us, and always seemed like a good guy too. That hasn't changed. Lets just move on.
  19. @MikeKeegan_DM: United have re-opened talks with Southampton over Morgan Schneiderlin. Club official travelled down this am. More @MailSport soon. #mufc Well connected Northern reporter. Good news if true IMO.
  20. Also will end up making a transfer profit two seasons in a row quite possibly, not so that bad. Bence will be the hardest for Koeman to replace.
  21. Yeah he was in the dressing room when one of the new signings was being introduced to people. Was in gym training gear.
  22. Technique and timing of tackles and interceptions, yes. He puts in lots of tackles, gets in players faces, wins 50/50s and covers lots of ground.
  23. Any further thoughts on this? Interesting some of the other CMs we have been in for like Imbula and Krychowiak are noted for their physical attributes more than technique, yet Clasie is the opposite. I do wonder if, although he is a good player, he is the right fit to replace Morgan? I guess it is ok when Wanyama plays, but if he doesnt, it is an issue?
  24. We do, and are also ruining Gazzaniga by not letting him learn his game in mens football. This will be his 4th season at Saints and Ive never seen a player in more need of a good loan spell.
  25. Interesting point re the size of the midfielders, especially as we may replace Morgan with Clasie who is also tiny. With powderpuff JWP and Davis who is relatively lightweight it does make me wonder if Clasie might be a great player but maybe not at this moment for us and perhaps we need more of a physical presence to replace Morgan?
