We don't need to buy one. We surely could loan a no9 type player so if Pelle gets injured we aren't totally screwed. All our other forwards are totally different players. Not sure what is so clueless about that?

Long and Jay Rod aren't part of the squad (thats the whole issue) and Koeman made a big thing of Elia being a left winger when he joined and that he had suffered at Bremen being played out of position. Pretty clear we need another proper striker. Failure to get one is up there with any of Arsenal's wacky policies on buying for every area other than the ones they need. IMO.

Echo reckons most likely we will gamble on Pelle staying fit. Surely the great work Koeman has done is worth an addition?

Not Clyne related as such but brilliant interview with Delph on 5 Live saying that he loves it at Villa, has great relationship with everyone at the Club and after the injury troubles he had he felt he owed it to Villa to stay. Said he would have been embarassed to leave for free after everything they invested in him. Made me think of Jay Rod really. Came across brilliantly and sounded very genuine.

Possibly but the money he could get elsewhere is far beyond what we could offer regardless. April will eventually be the end of the season and its a little like the Pochettino situation. The Club won't publically say he won't sign a contract but they will all know the realities.

Answer: They won't. He stays there until the summer then leaves on a free.

Gallagher isn't IMO good enough to make the impact we need at this stage and hasn't played at all this season so will take ages to get up to speed. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but we need someone to come in and be able to make an impact now. Usually I would say to go with what we have but considering the prize we are potentially playing for I think it is worth a loan at least.

You give someone from outside the PL the chance to play for a good team til May in the shop window of the PL. Sure there would be enough takers.

Someone to cover Long being out for 5 weeks. Plenty of players across the world would surely be keen to play for a team chasing top 4 in the Premier League? Doesn't have to be a world beater just a solid striker who is better than Seagar and Mayuka. Can't be that hard to identify one given the scouting setup (that Reed was rightly praising only this morning)?

I think players struggle to get excited about cups, especially not until the semi final sort of stage. The Sheff Utd Q Final was hardly glamourous and flat atmospheres with cheap tickets like Ipswich don't do much to change that. Mentally they are more focused on the PL.

He said on Thursday that JR isn't even close to rejoining the group. We have one fit and quality frontline striker. Liverpool have 4, West Ham 3 plus Cole, Spurs 3. Arsenal 2 plus Sanchez. Sooner or later it will hurt us.

Not much more to add from the title. We have been a striker light all season. Long now injured and he has hardly set the world alight. We are too reliant on Pelle. Given how well placed we are it would be madness not to at least loan someone in IMO. Absolute no brainer.

We badly need another striker. Unfair for Pelle to have such a burden.

If Koeman doesn't even trust Long for games like this, and Mane will be back soon, then Gallagher and maybe Jay at some stage then its hard to see him making much of an impact here.
