  1. More competition for places, good stuff.
  2. Sounds from the report like no bids, but if one came in it wouldnt exactly be scoffed at.
  3. This. Obviously better than Isgrove but no tactical nous what so ever. Which is why Poch will ship him out.
  4. Brighton Argus reporter Andy Naylor: For those asking re: rampant Solly March speculation. Saints' Les Reed is aware of his potential. So too are Everton. That's it. #bhafc March (back) is concentrating on getting himself fit to play for #bhafc.
  5. Would say this is the most important signing of the summer and the impact Gardos has (positive or negative) will go a long way to determining how we do this season. Still think its crazy given the cash we have brought in that we havent signed two centre backs. There will be plenty of players in Europe better than Hooiveld for less than 3m.
  6. Fair enough. Could easily predict a 4-0 win and it would still be fair enough.
  7. No way Long and Pelle will get 27 PL goals between them. Nor will our midfield get near 20.
  8. FWIW a few Brighton ITKs saying there is nothing in this rumour.
  9. Sorry, but Welbeck is better than Long. Plus, he barely ever has played up front.
  10. So, if we get Long and Gardos that would be quite a substantial sum spent, yet only really the GK position sorted long term. Next summer with Maya and Jos coming to the end of their contract we would need 2 x CB, a RB and a LB (either Bertrand or another). Striker we have spent 20m on a 29 and 27 year old, so hardly a long term view. Certainly feels like a policy shift from previous years. Of all the signings, the only one that stands out as being a result of good scouting is probably Gardos. The rest are a collection of known players who are available, or Koeman identified players. Might as well fire half the scouts as their reccomendations are onviously either crap or being ignored.
  11. Winger.
  12. Would be a coup for Palace to net him.
  13. Brighton fans on North Stand Chat talking about us being interested in their Eng U21 winger Solly March.
  14. Welbeck is far better than Long. Welbeck won't be going to Hull. Both of the above are true.
  15. If we sold Rodriguez we would want approx £20m so that is what Welbeck would command too.
  16. Ashton on Sunday Supplement the other day maintained that if Cortese was still here then so would be Shaw, Lallana, Lambert, Lovren etc. So slightly conflicts with verbal agreements which would not be required if players were so committed to the Don. Also shows how big a hold Cortese has over Ashton if he actually believes it all. The other scumbag Journos laughed at him.
  17. Appears so, yes.
  18. Be interesting to know the points difference with and without Hooiveld or Yoshida last season!
  19. £3m reflects the fact he has only one year on his contract and can leave for free next summer. We had better get used to it because next summer the same will apply to Jay Rod, Clyne and Ramirez. If they won't sign new contracts (highly likely) or arent offered one then they will be sold.
  20. No way Hull will sign Welbeck but he is miles better than Long!
  21. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Shane-Long-Southampton-Bruce-says-Hull-City/story-22728846-detail/story.html
  22. http://www.fanatik.ro/gardos-10-275123?mobile=v4#ad-image-0 He spoke this morning at the Airport in Bucharest to say the move is a dream come true.
  23. It won't be by the end of the window. Reckon if Spurs offered 17m or 18m he would still be here? I don't. Not because we want to sell but he has backed us into a corner and has a point. Why should he stay yet all the others be allowed to go? Even more valid once the offer is fair. And more so again if he either isnt playing, or isnt playing well.
  24. A midfield without either Cork, Morgan or Wanyama if he got injured would be laughably lightweight.
  25. So Koeman will quit if Schneiderlin goes? Yet wasnt overly fussed about the others? And has repeatedly said if players arent committed he doesnt want them? To me, Schneiderlin is the epitome of a player who isnt committed. He hasnt even trained properly FFS. Koeman's last interview he had softened his tone slightly. He knows he can't count on Schneiderlin. He might not be physically gone but mentally he is. Does he deserve a starting spot over Davis or JWP after his action? How would that come aross to others? And if he isnt starting and playing well then I would rather sell him.
