Fraser Forster Joins on 4 Year Deal - Official
Saint Charlie replied to Wrensup's topic in The Saints
Should hear from Forster today. Be interesting to see what does happen with Boruc. If we let him go then we need another keeper IMO because the odds of winning a PL game with either KD or Gazza in goal are slim to none unless its against a really ****e team. Summary: Would be a shame/poor to end up spending £10m on the GK position and still have awful back up. -
Or you could interpret as we have lost Lovren and we needed a player anyway in that position.

Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached

Jay Rod also... Although him and Prowse (who has also just joined) seem to have been told to by Adidas, probably a condition of their sponsorship. -
Dan Seaborne is set to sign for Partick Thistle. Shame for him, since the head injury has career has been set back a lot.
-
Really? Earlier this year he suggested Van Gaal should pick him in the World Cup squad. Re Rojo it seems we are being used to hike the price up. Is he worth those kind of figures?
-
Just speculating on the transfer rumour thread. Perfectly plausible. Byram wouldn't come here to be stuck behind Clyne for 4 years and as yet no whispers on Clyne being offered or signing a new contract.
-
Could see Byram coming in. Understudy to Clyne this season then first choice one Clyne moves in the summer (unless he signs a new contract this season). Nice succession planning. Byram very highly rated.

Im not the one with 8 posts on the Chambers thread (more than anyone else). Slightly odd then to tell others not to post about Chambers.
-
Duplicate post.
-
Chambers knew of Arsenal's interest and said he wanted to leave and didn't see his future at Saints.
-
Henry Winter, who usually has sound opinions, said on Sunday Supplement that Chambers was the most odd sale we have made, for a club that promotes the benefits of its Academy as much as we do. Said many people in football see him as England's long term no 1 centre back and that he is a great signing for Arsenal.

Romanian media reporting he is Southampton player. http://www.fanatik.ro/gardos-10-275123?mobile=v4#ad-image-0 Says a deal is agreed and he will undergo another medical to check his injury out and then will sign a contract. Wonder how long before he could play for us?
-
Probably ok but 3 of them aren't even Saints players and one of them is refusing to play for us, so very unlikely it would happen.
-
One of the articles above said we were concerned by the injury during the medical so I think its genuine.
-
Redmond anonymous for Norwich today. A signing out wide is crucial for us, not sure Redmond is up to the level we need to be honest.
-
So Gardos is injured at the moment anyway. Wonder how bad it is and when he would be able to play?
-
Seeing as we were just out of League One its a stupid point.
-
There's another article on that site where the Bucharest Chairman confirms he is going and says he is more suited to the PL than Chiriches, has a better physique than him in addition to the technical ability. He isn't going to play in their upcoming European qualifier.
-
He is already miles, miles, miles better than Yoshida or Hooiveld.

Sky Sources: New 5 Year Contract offered to Jay Rodriguez
Saint Charlie replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Yeah I bet Schneiderlin is happy he signed his new one a year ago... -
He wasn't exactly awful when he first arrived, just not used well. He has certainly improved but was miles better when he signed for us than Isgrove is now. Isgrove could be a handy sub, good option to have, but if he is a starter then we have gone backwards in that sort of area. We let Puncheon to for £1m and he is miles better than Isgrove is at the moment. If he isn't ready now then he shouldn't be in the team.

Koeman is at Anfield watching them today. 2-0 up after 20mins. Sturridge and Lovren. Showing nothing apart from it will be bloody hard to get anything. Coutinho superb. Havent seen Taider but if he is more tenacious than JWP then should start. Their midfield will pick us off if we stand off them. Thrashing potential - Fairly high
-
Hard to see how we can really hurt Liverpool without having someone who will run in behind? They will push their back four up high and squeeze us in ans Sturridge or Sterling one vs one with Yoshida is a total mismatch. Can only see a defeat, but hopefully a good performance and then we do have another week to sign some attackers and a run of winnable games to follow. Personally still feel we needed another pre season game against quality opponents as have only faced Bournemouth and Leverkusen who gave us any sort of test.

Yes. And so were Neil Moss, Kevin Miller and Chris Woods etc. I guess Davie meant English International. -
Fran Alonso?
