  1. Could have booked a medical in the event it might be needed.
  2. Has the medical taken place then? Someone who, in your opinion, would be a decent signing? Would explain the urgency we seem to be showing re Rojo, but also maybe that we arent overly confident on Rojo.
  3. Im not convinced we have ever actually put a bid in for him. I doubt signing Sordell and LJ means they need to balance books, their income has just shot up hugely and they havent exactly been spending fortunes.# A sensible approach would be to see how he adapts and then try to get him for relatively low of contract compo next summer if he does well. Certainly not worth (IMO) close to 10m when he is unproven in PL and out of contract next summer, plus also has a dubious injury record.
  4. Penarol in Uruguay I think.
  5. Hopefully Osvaldo will do really well and they buy him permanently in the summer. Otherwise we have two more summers to mess about loaning him out.
  6. I'm not convinced Sharp is even good enough for half those teams mentioned. He should go to Sheff Utd IMO.
  7. Bertrand has clearly come in to be the no 1 left back.
  8. Could be the slot is booked incase needed, but might not be used if negotiations don't go well....who knows at this stage.
  9. No chance Forster would play a CL qualifier tonight and already have a medical booked for tomorrow. Probably Samaras or someone left field like Bertrand was.
  10. Bence looks to have a decent CV to at least justify his appointment, something that cannot be said of all the Exec appointments.
  11. http://georgeweahscousin.com/2014/08/06/eye-of-the-taider-saphir-is-a-saint/ Interesting thoughts from an Inter fan on Taider and Schelotto.
  12. Surely we are beyond the timeframe where we can chuck a derisory in?
  13. Schelotto was 7 at Inter at first. Would rather they rested it for a year than have someone average in it.
  14. And he hasn't actually signed anything Seriously though, would be good to get him signed up. He and Cork's contracts really should have been on the agenda weeks ago - such no brainers. Would also make him the first genuine first teamer to sign for the new lot.
  15. Always good for your no 1 to be the third choice keeper But it doesn't mean a lot.
  16. Wonder if Taider is training at the stadium with the rest of the squad?
  17. They certainly could do, with an early goal and a good atmosphere.
  18. Celtic vs Legia Warsaw (7.45pm) Celtic need to overturn a 4-1 deficit. A 3-0 home win would take them through on away goals. If they win they go through to a playoff round, if they lose they are out. ----------------------------------------------- View from Poland: Having scanned the Legia forum they are of mixed confidence as their away form in European competitions is poor, and their version of MLG spotted that key man Michal Zyro didn't appear in the Legia Player video of the squad training yesterday, which is a cause for concern. A poster called Legia Richmond on their Forum thinks they will certainly lose and is still seething that they missed two penalties in the first leg: Most of them think Saganowski is crap. ------------------------------------------------- My Prediction: Celtic to go 3-0 up and then an 85th minute Forster howler gifts Legia get a vital late goal taking them through.
  19. A few other favoured Journos were in the same chat: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/11014888/Only-good-times-ahead-says-Southampton-chairman-Ralph-Krueger-despite-93m-sale-of-key-players.html http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/05/southampton-transfers-finished?CMP=twt_gu
  20. Good article. Interesting some of the ones sold (presumably Chambers) were not viewed as starters. Also very firm on Morgan and Jay. Interesting line here: “One of the big things was to stop the investments from Katharina,” Krueger says. “When she sees 30,000 people having pleasure watching the team perform it makes her happy in the memory of why her father [Markus] invested in the first place. So is he admitting KL wants to scale back her investment in Saints or have I read that wrong?
  21. Pretty obvious why. They had offers to treble their wages from teams actually in the running to win titles and play European football. Once one went the others wanted too, and in some cases still do.
  22. He isn't good enough for PL football I'm afraid.
  23. We don't comment until things are on the OS but Krueger has been talking about Tadier today
  24. Ings has a hip injury apparently. Don't personally see him fitting our 4-3-3 anyhow.
  25. Fair enough viewpoint I think. End of the day, selling is one thing, but we simply haven't brought enough quality in to offset the loss. It's ok being patient but it seems we are going to be the ones ****ing around in the last weeks of the window chasing anyone who is available. If you are going to sell as we have, then the incomings are even more vital. Koeman does have a bloody tough job, perhaps tougher than he realises.
